Totally nerdy I know but I was on the M4 yesterday and stopped at Chievely and remembered the whole Gavin and Stacey debate about which one was best. That or Leigh Delaware.

I think they were all wrong and Membury is best.

But my favourite of all is Strensham on the M5 heading towards Worcester, only the North bound one though!

Tebay services on the M6. I'm up and down the M6 a lot and it's a welcome little oasis in a long boring drive.

Glos services are lush but v expensive. Leigh Delaware reminds me of walking the Thames path - loved it

Tebay Services Westmorland. Lovely food. We actually deliberately planned a route to Leeds via there instead of going round Scotch Corner.

You are going to get a lot of people saying Tebay/Gloucester Services (Westmorland Group).

And they will be right.

The one on the M6 troll road. The fact that you have to pay a fiver to get there means you keep the riff raff out.

Why do you like Strensham so much OP, out of interest?

Tebay, the beautiful lake and farm shop.

I love it if I get a client that gives me an excuse to drive there.

Leigh Delamere.... it’s always been my favourite and I don’t know why! I used to drive to wales a lot from Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire!

Tebay, but I'm rarely there. I pop into Gloucester most months, in both directions.

Another vote for Tebay.

Gloucs or Tebay (same company) but I'm a sucker for a "farm shop".

Tebay is a good shout!

My fave is probs Hartshead Moor on the M62, bit grotty in places but driving to Manchester has lots of good memories and it’s not far from the house in the middle of the M62

the new improved Wetherby is very good though Grin

Tebay! Apparently also Gloucester but haven't been myself.

We liked the Cobham services as a non-Tebay type.

Tebay, no question.

I think I like Strensham so much as going from Wales to "up north" taking the M50 has always scared me since that poor pregnant lady got murdered on there in the 1980s. It's such a short motorway but seems to go on forever (especially in the dark) then you join the M5 and get to Strensham north and bliss!

I must check out Tebay! Isn't there a really lovely one in the Lakes somewhere?

Loved Gloucester services, loved the fact they had a separate area in the restaurant so that we didn't feel hundreds of eyes staring at our autistic son.

Favourite has to be Annandale Water, just because of the lake out the back :-) Never a queue for the toilets either.

Oh I was coming on to say South Mimms. I never fail to see some really fascinating people there.
