Reported.

It’s definitely interesting but I don’t know if it’s just me, but some of it is quite discriminatory towards boys.

LuxuryMilk Tue 13-Feb-18 15:11:51

Why have you reported it Callyourdad?
Off topic but I like your name, I hope you SSDGM 😄

" Transgender Trend – Who Are We?

We are a group of parents based in the UK, who are concerned about the current trend to diagnose ‘gender non-conforming’ children as transgender. We reject current conservative, reactionary, religious-fundamentalist views about sexuality and we have no political affiliation. We are also concerned about legislation which places transgender rights above the right to safety for girls and young women in public bathrooms and changing rooms.

We come from diverse backgrounds, some with expertise in child development and psychology, some who were themselves extreme gender non-conforming children and adolescents, some whose own children have self-diagnosed as ‘trans’ and some who know supportive trans adults who are also questioning recent theories of ‘transgenderism.’"

Why report? seems an interesting read.

Why would I send a copy to my child's school, she isn't transgender? I would assume that the parents of any transgender child would work with the school so that they had all the resources in place to best meet the needs of the child and communicate the respectful way to address the child to his/her fellow pupils.

It makes for a much better conversation if you debate the points you disagreed with rather than just reporting.

Seems interesting.

Can't see the need to report the post?

YetAnotherUser Tue 13-Feb-18 15:29:17

There's not much room for actual debate on trans/feminist issues mumsnet though, it's more of an echo chamber.

@Callyourdadyoureinacult What's your issue?

Personally I feel schools need an alternative to endorsing and advocating the nonsense and harm that is trans ideology.

There is a dire need for a resource like this, just ask your local schools. Their hands are tied and currently have to follow shakey advice from charities that seem to want to push the trans narrative.

therealposieparker Tue 13-Feb-18 15:31:24

@YetAnotherUser How would you like schools to both deal with a gender questioning child and the other children in the school?

Cupofcake Tue 13-Feb-18 15:31:48

This site actually seems to make some very good points. It's concerned about the things that are debated daily on this site. I wouldn't just send something into school, but am interested to read it.

It makes for a much better conversation if you debate the points you disagreed with rather than just reporting to be fair all the ‘debates’ on mumsnet about this always go the same way

Careful now. The call to arms will go out and you’ll have all the usual suspects telling you (if they were male it would be dismissed as 'mansplaining') how to think......

Blankuser1992 Tue 13-Feb-18 15:37:33

Wow... how hateful

Notevilstepmother Tue 13-Feb-18 15:44:08

So a group of random parents thought they would put together some resources for schools. So helpful, and not at all trying to push their own agenda.....

hmm

I'd rather people sent something to their children's schools about autism - I'm sure there are more children on the spectrum than there are transgendered.

Notevilstepmother Tue 13-Feb-18 15:47:55

The page about detransitioning reminds of gay conversion therapy.

Cupofcake Tue 13-Feb-18 15:54:05

grin

therealposieparker Tue 13-Feb-18 16:12:25

Nike. You are right about autism, it';s a huge issue in schools. 95% of children on the spectrum report being bullied, however the government (however shit in practice) do give out guidance to schools. As yet the government offers no such guidance regarding trans issues, and more importantly how to avoid terrible stereotypes and the assault of girls. We seem to have lost our way with regard to how best to serve girls in 2018, a high level of sexual assault in schools and so on.

therealposieparker Tue 13-Feb-18 16:13:25

Notevil. I'd argue that the huge rise in the number of GNC girls that identify as trans is gay conversion therapy. I think I read 95% of young trans boys are attracted to girls.

SmileEachDay Tue 13-Feb-18 16:20:51

Currently schools follow advice from Mermaids - who definitely have a very, very particular agenda. This would at least give those developing PHSE curricula an alternative viewpoint.

Why is that “hateful”?

Cupofcake Tue 13-Feb-18 16:22:33

yes, I didn't get why it was hateful, just another point of view.

RavenWings Tue 13-Feb-18 16:23:45

Oh fgs, is there no escape from these threads? Can we not have them tagged as a trans issue or something? At least a clear title would be great.

I've no issue with these being debated, it's just not something I'm interested in.
