I can’t believe I’m asking this, but I’m really nosey and just wanted to put it out there.

AIBU to ask you about how you met your partner, DH or DW? Insanely curious (although I know it’s none of my business).

Following as I have recently broken up with my DP of 5 years, who I met on POF. Wondering how the fuck I’ll meet someone new, as I really don’t want to do OLD again and have to wade through the nutters and weirdos Sad but as I’m self employed and work with mainly other women, I won’t just trip over a suitable man who happens to be in my way. Apart from work and OLD what else is there? I have joined a couple of groups but again, they seem to be mainly women and older men.

A friend invited me to keep him company as she wanted to get off with his mate, problem was I thought she liked him and went along to set them up. I had a long-term boyfriend (well 6 months, long-term to a 14yo!) too so I'm not quite sure how we ended up together tbh.

We still laugh at my shitty match making skills :o

Went to a girls holiday in Italy after passing my a-levels. Bumped into him at the beach. Went clubbing & exchanged numbers. Invited him (british) to my house in Germany 4 weeks later (with my parents approval). I moved over to London 3 years later and now we are married (7 years together in total) Smile
What a "love story" Grin

High school. We've been together since we were 16/17 (now 33) with a four year break in the middle during which we stayed good friends.

Bumble. He extended the time on me so I was confident enough to say hi. We hit it off and I am thankful for him every day.

Previous boyfriends though; at a teenage birthday party (first boyfriend, first snog... in the dark) he got my number and asked me out; a society event night at uni- he saw me at the bar and came to chat me up later; started out as a friend from uni, we stayed in touch and he asked me out a few times when I was single and then we gave it a go; someone I met through a night out at my hobby, there's a cute follow up story; long term fwb... met on a night out involving my hobby- a night that still features near the top of my favourite-memories-to -replay-list, sorry DP! Nightclub. I saw him across the room and that was that. I followed him around until I got a chance to sit next to him, quizzed him to make sure he liked all the right bands and followed him around some more. When he asked if he could kiss me it was the best moment ever. This year is our 20 year anniversary. ❤️

My mum and his mum were penpals. We met as children. I was 9 and he was 11. I only saw him twice as he lived in Scotland and I lived in the South East. We didn't see each other again until I was 18 and he was 21. We clicked immedately and moved in together 3 months later.
We've been married nearly 28 years now and have 2 wonderful sons.

He's the love of my life

Was busy putting out a crate of apples in j s@insburys fruit and veg aisle when the “new” girl sashayed past in the horrific brown sackcloth/dress they used to have for uniform.
I told my colleague about the stunningly beautiful girl that just started on checkouts... he knew her from college, introduced us at tea break and 18 years, two kids later she is my soulmate/woman of my dreams!!!
I thank all my lucky stars daily!!

Guy I’m seeing at the moment - only been seeing him since December so too early to consider him ‘D’ anything... but all going well so far and very promising... Met him during my Christmas work night out. I wish I remembered it more but I’d had quite a bit to drink... It was also snowing and very icy outside and when the place kicked out, I fell (several times) and broke my ribs. He picked me up (from the ground, several times) and made sure I got home safe :)

I was heading to the toilets in the nightclub, dying for a wee, and he was in my way. I said something along the lines of "shift it or I will pee on your feet" and he moved.
When I came out, I noticed his skinhead and I have a "thing" for the feel, so I stroked his head and said "ooo I do like a well skinned head"
He followed me home and I kept him Grin
And reader, I married him! Grin
