Got my finger on the button for either. Which one would people recommend?

MongerTruffle Mon 12-Feb-18 18:49:04

I love both, but prefer Prague.

BadlyParkedRangeRover Mon 12-Feb-18 18:49:20

I'd do Berlin - love the place.

fallenblossom Mon 12-Feb-18 18:50:12

Prague is pretty, but Berlin every time!

GlitterUnicornsAndAllThatJazz Mon 12-Feb-18 18:50:32

Berlin, duh!

BarbarianMum Mon 12-Feb-18 18:52:03

If you've been to one, choose the other.

If you've been to neither, my vote would be Prague.

If you've been to both why are you asking us? grin

LucilleBluth Mon 12-Feb-18 18:57:05

Ah bloody hell.....where has the best food 😀

Crispbutty Mon 12-Feb-18 18:58:58

I’ve not been to Berlin but have been to Prague many times and love it. The food is great and the cocktail bar by St Charles Bridge is amazing .

Berlin! There is more to do.

LucilleBluth Mon 12-Feb-18 19:02:26

I love history and I'm leaning towards Berlin for it's more recent history, but Prague looks very pretty. Both are coming in at the same price.

blackteasplease Mon 12-Feb-18 19:06:40

Enjoyed both but would say Prague

PJHarveysClutchBag Mon 12-Feb-18 19:10:35

Justmuddlingalong Mon 12-Feb-18 19:11:04

Berlin first. Prague next time. wink

LucilleBluth Mon 12-Feb-18 19:29:56

Berlin it is 😃 . Thanks all. Any must see attractions?

ForalltheSaints Mon 12-Feb-18 19:37:57

A person who is tired of Berlin is tired of life. So the right decision.

Must sees:
The Bundestag
The memorial to the murdered Jews in Europe
The DDR museum, if only to sit in a Trabant
The Olympia Station, home of the 1936 games where Jesse Owens won four gold medals
Go up the tv tower for the view
Museum Insel

Berlin is a great city to just be in. I am here right now...

I vote Charlottenburg to get a slice of the older architecture and culture (evenif a lot is reconstructed). The Jewish Museum - amazing architecture to honour Jewish history.

Check out Berlin style cheesecake. Just amazing. And make your way to Berlin Home Made ice cream shop.

Loved both but I'd go back to Berlin in a heartbeat.

I have been to Prague and am visiting Berlin soon, I loved Prague, it was architecturally fascinating with lots to do, interesting visits and great beer!!

FlyMaybe Mon 12-Feb-18 21:15:56

Prague, every time. Amazing place.

Another vote here for the cocktail bar near the bridge, if you mean the Art Deco one opposite the opera house. cakeginwine

Went to Berlin last year with 4 teenaged DDs and DH - loved it. Going back this year with couple friends as we've raved so much.

To do walking tour (free one where guides have to work hard for money) to get your bearings. Wall and Topographies of Terror Museum. Currywurst and Berlin beer at the food trucks next to Checkpoint Charlie. Kadewe foot court . Holocaust Memorial at sunset, site of Fuher's Bunker. Potsdammer Plaz.
Public transport is amazing you can buy a pass at the airport that covers all modes. We were in Mitte (former East) fascinating and only a few stops on the underground from Alexzander Platz.
