Aggghhhhhhh!!! Why can't they aim/focus? so bored of the endless 'please lift seat' 'pls watch what your doing' 'pls wipe if you miss' and then the inevitable middle of the night sitting on something wet eurgh!!

Will they ever grow out of it....

I bring mine back to dry the seat - every single time - it is sinking in, and for the most part he will now sit instead. Only 4 though, I imagine this is something you go through quite a few times.

Could be a sign of something else?
Does your ds 'spray' over the seat and ever get water infections?
My ds was bad for this I used to tell him off all the time for making a mess but he actually needed a medical circumcision as his foreskin was scarred/too tight and turns out he couldn't help it .
He wees a lot neater now!

Put a ping pong ball in. They aim at it it, it bobs around a bit, helps them focus. It won't flush away, it just bobs at the top.

At least yours wee on the seat, several of my under ten cousins wee straight on the floor. Just sit down if you can’t do it for God’s sake!

Mine are close in age and one always blamed the other for the mess.

Now they have to tell us when they are going to the toilet so we can check after and send them straight back to clean up. Every time.

Oh, and I make them sit down.

The story of my life! So grim especially when coupled with them not flushing!

3 boys here, eldest 13.

Yes, they do get better with age and nagging, but need reminding to wipe up their accidental splashes. Mine all lift the seat and are generally acceptable.

I realised I had it good when my eldest's friend (also 13) came over. He weed all over the toilet, up the back of it and all over the floor. My son was mortified Confused

My friend made a rule and made her boys clean the loo....failure to do so resulted in no pocket money

She has three lads and the idea was that they each take a turn daily...one clean of the loo per day.

So...whenever one boy pissed on the seat, his brother would have to clean it...they began to police one another very strictly! Refusal to clean the loo on their day would result in no pocket money/

Barring medical/SEN problems there is no excuse for a boy over 5 to make a mess, or if they do not clean it up afterwards.

Make them clean it everytime, toilet seat/rim and floor with gloves and proper cleaning stuff to make a point. Drum it into them to check the toilet after use before they walk away from it. Advise them to sit down if their aim is poor and they don’t want to clean up.

When I started staying over at my partner's house I had to gently suggest that he might start lifting the seat... he was mortified, hadn't even realised he'd been doing it! 30 years old...
