So I have the dreaded lurgy and my dp has gone to work and put all the meds back on top of the cupboard aibu to ring him at work and ask him to come home and get them down or do I wait till his break at 12 when he said he is nipping home anyway either way im late taking them and can feel my temperature shooting up

Celticlassie Thu 08-Feb-18 10:25:07

Can you not stand on a chair?

SoupyNorman Thu 08-Feb-18 10:25:40

Can you not get a chair?

MirandaWest Thu 08-Feb-18 10:26:17

How long would it take for him to get to you?

Wellfuckmeinbothears Thu 08-Feb-18 10:27:10

That would be a bit unreasonable.

I'm 5ft and my dh oftern forgets he's a lot taller and puts things on top shelves and I just climb on the sideboard or stand a chair.

Bluntness100 Thu 08-Feb-18 10:27:47

I guess there is a physical reason you can't get them? If so and you should take them, then call him.

pigeondujour Thu 08-Feb-18 10:27:49

I don't think you can call him to come back from work if he's coming back in an hour and a half anyway. Just curse him and stand on a chair.

idontlikealdi Thu 08-Feb-18 10:27:50

Why cant you get them?

georgeoutside Thu 08-Feb-18 10:28:03

Oh ffs. Of course that would be unreasonable.

Unless there is a massive drip feed to follow regarding your mobility......

MaitlandGirl Thu 08-Feb-18 10:29:03

If I was struggling with a flu type bug I wouldn’t be standing on a chair. I’d be dizzy as hell and wouldn’t take the risk.

Bluntness100 Thu 08-Feb-18 10:29:12

The op could be disabled. I'm assuming this is the case as otherwise she would not have posted.

UgandanKnuckles Thu 08-Feb-18 10:53:54

Would he even be allowed to leave work for that? There's no way I'd be getting out of work to get something down from a high shelf.

QuiteLikely5 Thu 08-Feb-18 10:55:11

Stand on a chair! I don’t understand why you think you shouldn’t

PinkHeart5914 Thu 08-Feb-18 10:59:51

Is there a reason you can’t reach the top of the cupboard? Do you have a disability that means you are unable to reach?

Assuming from your post you just have some kind of virus, then stand on a chair

Either way though, he will be home in 1 hour you can wait until then

Deshasafraisy Thu 08-Feb-18 11:01:37

Stand on a chair,o r knock them down with the mop. Don’t be pathetic!

Youshallnotpass Thu 08-Feb-18 11:02:20

Its a cold / the flu - you will be fine with no medication at all to be honest (you can wait)

Lukeandlorelai4Ever Thu 08-Feb-18 11:04:01

Neighbors?

Lucymek Thu 08-Feb-18 11:04:58

R u joking unless your in a wheelchair this is ridiculous.

ShatnersBassoon Thu 08-Feb-18 11:08:51

Oh, please! If you're incapable of stretching up, or standing on something, or knocking them down with something, then have a glass of cold water to cool you until 12pm.

Sweetpea55 Thu 08-Feb-18 11:10:58

Goodness sake,,,stand on a chair and get them yourself and stop being so precious

VladmirsPoutine Thu 08-Feb-18 11:11:40

You would be being unreasonable. Get on a chair or get a dampened cloth. This all sounds rather precious behaviour unless you are going to massively drip feed that you have no arms or legs.

SwarmOfCats Thu 08-Feb-18 11:12:10

Just get something to reach up and knock them down!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties Thu 08-Feb-18 11:13:19

He'll be home in an hour and a half. I'd wait. the only meds that will help a high temperature are paracetamol so you'll be ok to miss a dose.

Just rest (or get a long broom handle, stretch a pair of old tights and fix to the end to form a net and scoop the tablets from the top of the cupboard).

ShotsFired Thu 08-Feb-18 11:13:28

Get on a chair, knock them down with a long handled implement, go to sleep instead - so many options.

Unless as pp says, there is a massive drip feed about to drop...

unicorncow Thu 08-Feb-18 11:15:48

Get a chair? That would be very unreasonable to get him to come to get tablets down for you unless you are physically disabled?
