I am due to pick DD up (almost 2) shortly from nursery.

I am in desperate need to go shopping

Would it be unreasonable to go after nursery pick up? Even though supermarket is 15 min drive and it's rush hour and normally we come home an have play time before she goes to bed at 7?

Tough decision Blush

Yanbu. Supermarket is exciting when you’re 2. You could have tea in the cafe!

She does love the supermarket normally to be fair. We do often end up with random things in the trolly and sometimes even paid for and realised at home (thank you DD for the dried sage leaves)

I could go to Waitrose as is closer, but it's more expensive

Really? Why is this tough? Because it's out of routine?

Go if you need to. She'll enjoy the change.

Really don't get this op Hmm Why wouldn't you go to the supermarket if you need shopping? How else will you get it?

I’m not sure why this would be anything other that fine?

I don’t know why you wouldn’t go if you need to?

Why are we making this decision? If you need to go, go.

Just because it's a few hours till bed time. I guess it is a bit silly.

Logically do you need to be home a few hours before bedtime? If you need shopping then just go.

Flomy - that is my worry.

I feel quite sure when my DDs were little and i needed shopping i just took them and went to the supermarket. If you need shopping then that's what you do surely? Am i missing something?

But it's a few hours to bedtime, not a few minutes...A trip to sainsburys will be fine, and as a PP said if you throw in sausages, chips and beans at the cafe she'll probably love it even more!

I think I am being taken too seriously, it is a decision I am weighing up but it's not stressing me out or anything.

I don't understand why you have felt the need to come to MN with this?

This has to be the most pointless thread ever! I think children are allowed in supermarkets..... There are 5 hours between 2pm and 7pm so I think you have time to go. Am I missing something?

Starry - maybe I was wondering what you all thought on this very serious matter.

Of course I will update you all on how the important trip went.

Last time we went to Waitrose she sat on a bag of kale, the bag popped and kale flew everywhere.
