AIBU?

AIBU in thinking that there is no justice in Scotland?

Here in Scotland, Mason's are above the law. I was assaulted by three people, one of them a Mason, the other's were the Mason's wife and the Mason's sister in law. What happened to them? To the Mason, nothing. If he had been prosecuted and found guilty of assault, he would have lost his job. To the Mason's sister in law, also nothing. To the Mason's wife, they made up a FICTITIOUS NAME for her, entered it into their various systems thus no "previous" came up and as a so called "first offence" she was merely issued with an "Adult Informal Warning" - in the fictitious name! She has a history of violence.

Also, to discredit me, Tayside Police (now Police Scotland) created an intelligence dossier on me, again, another piece of utter fabrication which stated that I had committed all sorts of sexual crimes which, had I been found guilty of, would have resulted in me serving a couple of life sentences. Not only did the Cops not prosecute me, they never even interviewed me! You couldn't make it up, but they did. I now have a PVG, (the Scottish safety check), despite having irrefutable evidence of my innocence, which means my career as a carer is destroyed as is my reputation and more importantly, my mental health.

I'm living proof that there is NO justice in Scotland. It's SO hard when every door to justice is slammed in your face. I feel utterly broken by it all. Just wanted to share.

It's hard when things feels unfair. I live in Scotland and don't know a single mason, that I'm aware of. How do you know that the fact one person was a mason is the reason fr all this? How do you know that a fake name was entered?

I live in Scotland. When you've watched the bastard who took your daughters life walk away with a NOT PROVAN verdict I can say the justice system in Scotland is a joke. He wasn't a mason.

OP I take it you've discussed this with your Member of the Scottish Parliament and taken all your evidence with you?

Is there an equivalent to the Lord Chancellor? They have a justice department where you an appeal for help. Also is there an independent police complaints authority where you could take your case? If injustice is happening you have every right to challenge it!

If you think masons are above the law then yes YABU. None of us can really comment on your AIBU- while it’s totally understandable that you’re devastated I think there are major, major failings with Police Scotland. Corruption, suspensions, general incompetence as well as budget cuts/ making one mega force and the problems it has created. I don’t agree with secret societies of any kind btw.

The masons have no impact on reported crimes in Scotland. There is no way I would be able to write off a reported crime of assault without any investigation because of who the person is. Lack of evidence is a different matter though.

Were they interviewed?

I don't believe the Police made all that stuff up, I'm sorry. I get you might believe it though.

I am Scottish and have worked alongside the Police and i think you are talking utter nonsense. I understand you feel you have not been taken seriously and that there has been no conviction for those who assaulted you but i would imagine it has nothing to do with their masonic connections.

I think you need a mental health professional and to stop posting online.

Sorry, I don’t buy any of this. I believe that you truly believe it, but the police don’t make that much stuff up to that extent; they have no evidence for a start.

I also disagree with one single police force , for many reasons , but find it hard to believe what you're saying and would also be off to see a MH professional for a chat, as it sounds like paranoia of a sort. Have heard lots of odd and bizarre conspiracies regarding police, NHS, army etc where I'm from and this sounds similar.

Scot here. I get that the ‘not proven’ verdict is controversial with some, (yes it’s an acquittal but it’s not absolution of guilt, rather than the legal team couldn’t prove their guilt beyond all doubt) but honestly OP I find your story a little out there. Scotland isn’t heaving with masons and bent coppers.

Report
lalalalyra · 05/02/2018 16:53

I think you have a one off case of corruption, if that's what you have.

It's something I've heard before though. Sometimes the bent cops are orangemen, sometimes masons.

Not proven is a horrendous verdict all round. No-one gets justice, but I suppose at least some people (like Francis Auld for example) don't get their name completely cleared unjustly.

Gemini69 · 05/02/2018 17:18

yes I disagree with the Not Proven verdict too.. it shatters lives and leaves no closure

Scotland’s controversial “not proven” verdict could face the axe as part of Scottish Government reforms to the criminal justice system.

That was in 2016. Still in use.

(yes it’s an acquittal but it’s not absolution of guilt, rather than the legal team couldn’t prove their guilt beyond all doubt)

Same as not guilty, then. I don’t see the need for 2 acquittal verdicts (I’m a lawyer btw)

OP this all seems a bit far fetched. Have you complained to the PIRC?

Report
DrPill · 05/02/2018 17:55

Bakedbeans It's not the same as not guilty. It means the accused is guilty but that it's hasn't been proved. It's more a verdict for the prosecution.
