Before anyone says it I’m an absolute idiot for not buying from gumtree in the first place but 🙄🙄 I wanted a nice shiny new one!

For first baby we got loaned an ICandy as we thought we were only going to have the one dc.

Then got pregnant with dc2 and HAD to have a new pushchair!

We got an single to double as had two under 2 and eldest child not walking when dc2 came.

As Sod’s law would have it, dc2 hated the buggy and refused to sit in it after 12 months.

The whole thing including cost us £1100 including car seat bits.

I’ve been trying to sell it in gumtree for £400 and not one enquiry apart from one cf who asked if he could borrow it🤔

I’m going to have to give it away for next to nothing, aren’t I?

☹️

eBay

Try ebaying it?

YellowMakesMeSmile Sun 04-Feb-18 19:42:19

Not sure what you expect people to say. £1100 on a pushchair is madness, you can buy a car for that much. Of course people aren't going to want to pay hundreds for a used item like a pram so that you recoup most of your money.

I sell stuff at our local baby sales.

You could always put it on ebay or ask friends to put adverts up in staff rooms.

There are also second hand baby shops that buy from you. I sold them a cot etc.

Try Facebook marketplace or eBay?
Or local nearly new sales?
I sold some of mine in bits seperately eg the carrycots and the adapters and probably raised about £150 that way, and then sold the double pram for £200. We had it for 4 years though and it was very well used

ceeveebee Sun 04-Feb-18 19:45:12

Oh I sold on Facebook to a local twin Mum so try twin groups if you can find one

Hellohellohowareyou Sun 04-Feb-18 19:45:21

I’m sure there are fb selling pages purely for icandy prams, maybe try there?

mummmy2017 Sun 04-Feb-18 19:45:37

Anyone who buys a £1100 pushchair is a mug...

We got cheap ones used and after 3 months get the next one, £100 max, love not being tied to something worth more than a car..

I think maybe you're asking for a bit too much. Try eBay first though.
We bought our buggy for £670 new and sold for £180.

Facebook any baby groups

Then be prepared to haggle

TwinklyGiraffe Sun 04-Feb-18 19:47:31

Oh must have a look at the Facebook ICandy page, didn’t know there was such a thing!

BigBaboonBum Sun 04-Feb-18 19:47:57

We’ve just bought an icandy and it’s beautiful! I didn’t buy second hand as I was concerned about the cleanliness... so maybe try giving it a proper valet and putting down on the EBay advert that it’s had a proper valet etc etc

wowbutter Sun 04-Feb-18 19:48:15

I wouldn't pay more than £200 for it second hand.

You can sell it, just for less than you want to. It's only worth what someone will pay for it.

FayJay Sun 04-Feb-18 19:49:21

I agree. Try eBaying it. If you arrange a courier you’ll be able to appeal to more people. I’ve had a quick look at completed listings for icandy travel systems and a few in good nick have gone for £400 +. Lots going for about £250 though.

greendale17 Sun 04-Feb-18 19:49:30

eBay or icandy Facebook page

ruleshelpcontrolthefun Sun 04-Feb-18 19:49:45

Spending £400 on a 2nd hand, out of warranty pushchair would be stupid. It could break tomorrow and there would be no comeback.

namechangew4nker Sun 04-Feb-18 19:49:56

Definitely a specific icandy selling page on Facebook, the ladies on there are pram mad and are aware of what things are worth and will also advise you on pricing.

RaeCJ82 Sun 04-Feb-18 19:50:35

@mummmy2017 how rude! Not everyone wants to buy secondhand. It definitely doesn't make them a mug! I spent £700 on my pram, including car seat etc and I love it. It will be used again if I'm lucky enough to have a second baby!

namechangew4nker Sun 04-Feb-18 19:51:06

This one

Raaaaaah Sun 04-Feb-18 19:51:25

Well I guess the whole point of gumtree and eBay are that people want a bargain so aren’t prepared to pay loads. Sorry not helpful.
What about giving it to someone who really needs it then at least you know it is going to a good home. We gave our snuzpod (barely used) to a charity called Little village which only collects good quality stuff then distributes it to people who have been referred to them. Your icandy could make someone’s day.

namechangew4nker Sun 04-Feb-18 19:51:34

Or this one

crisscrosscranky Sun 04-Feb-18 19:52:34

I bought our travel system brand new for £250 in the sale - reduced from £400. It came with base, pram top, push chair bit and a bag + a 4 year guarantee.

I wouldn't pay £400 for a second hand pram with no guarantee. Then again, I wouldn't pay £1100 for a new pram!

ZeroFuchsGiven Sun 04-Feb-18 19:52:58

£1100 for a buggy? Is it gold lined or something? confused

LambMadras Sun 04-Feb-18 19:53:02

I sold my Icandy double for £250.

Made me feel quite sick frankly. £800 up in flames but I enjoyed it while I had it.
