AIBU To ask that the BBC stops discriminating against men and boys by not allowing them to have a Men's Hour on radio 4.
Women have a woman's hour to discuss and air issues for women, but men do not.
If we want equality shouldn't we ask the BBC to give men the same, after all what harm would it do to us if men had the same arena to discuss there issues.
Equality means the same rights for all.

Could just get rid of womans hour being a bit outdated in the age of equality. Like Jeremy Vine...

tiredbutFESTIVE Wed 31-Jan-18 20:28:08

Off you go and ask them then

Glumglowworm Wed 31-Jan-18 20:31:20

What is the point of posting this exactly? To set the feminists frothing? 0/10 must try harder

songbird11 Wed 31-Jan-18 20:32:24

Just say you’re a woman and you can be on there ... hmm

Seriously, half the issues they discuss are parenting issues rather than women’s issues anyway.

newyearsameme80 Wed 31-Jan-18 20:35:22

If men want a men’s hour, it is up to them to ask for one.

Waffles80 Wed 31-Jan-18 20:35:39

Maybe when men have suffered millenia of prejudice and discrimination, violence and hatred, a slot will become available - just five hours a week, mind - for them.

Poor OP.

I’m sure it will be popular with both its listeners.

Tslade123 Wed 31-Jan-18 20:39:31

It exists on Radio 5!

Pittcuecothecookbook Wed 31-Jan-18 20:40:35

Urgh, massive eyeroll

buckeejit Wed 31-Jan-18 20:40:50

Did you not know there's no such thing as women anymore?!

Regularsizedrudy Wed 31-Jan-18 20:47:07

Oh Vicky Vicky Vicky.

NotACleverName Wed 31-Jan-18 20:48:59

It's called the other 23 hours of the day HTH

Florallee Wed 31-Jan-18 20:49:10

Every hour of every day is 'mans hour' and you whine because we want 4%? confused

Regularsizedrudy Wed 31-Jan-18 20:50:31

Oh and on the off chance you are actually just a moron and not a troll, there have been several incarnations of men’s hour over the years but none have been that successful so haven’t lasted. (You know cos it’s shit idea)

Vicky1990 Wed 31-Jan-18 20:59:06

I am not suggesting getting rid of woman's hour, but having a men's hour as well.
If there is or was a men's hour it was not on Radio 4.
It seems there are a lot of posters on this site who do not want there Fathers, husbands or sons to have the same as there mothers and daughters, I think they must be Feminist who do not like men.

AmberTopaz Wed 31-Jan-18 21:01:02

Vicky, do you have a bit more information about this? Why do you say the BBC has not allowed it - are you suggesting that someone pitched the idea to Radio 4 and it was turned down?

Vicky1990 Wed 31-Jan-18 21:16:30

Did women have to ask for a woman's hour, on six days a week ?.
Hosted by Two white, middle aged, middle class feminist, and full of Misandry comments.
I have asked many times for a men's hour but have been ignored.
I am hoping that now so much is in the news about discrimination that things might change.
Apparently half the audience for woman's hour are men, wouldn't women like to hear about men's issues as well.

HardAsSnails Wed 31-Jan-18 21:20:43

I'll just leave this here for you OP

Andrewofgg Wed 31-Jan-18 21:20:53

Oh yes, buckeejit - we need a Self-Identifiers' Hour too!

ScreamingValenta Wed 31-Jan-18 21:22:27

Can you give examples of the sorts of features you'd expect on a 'Men's Hour' programme, OP?

AmberTopaz Wed 31-Jan-18 21:26:14

What do you mean, did women have to ask for it? Someone must have had the idea originally and pitched it to Radio 4 and been accepted.

SusanBunch Wed 31-Jan-18 21:26:21

Vicky, before you get all worked up about Men's Hour, you need to work on basic spelling and grammar issues. Men's Hour is the least of your problems at the moment.
