He's nothing at all. Why why why do broadcasters give him so much space to air his views???

yanbu.

I'm always asking this. He's utterly irrelevant yet he's always in the fucking news. Drives me insane.

Yanbu, I wish he'd disappear for good.

This infuriates me and I'm convinced it's why the vote went as it did for Brexit.

Remember when NF went to the US to see Trump shortly after the US elections? Do you think Trump actually knew that NF wasn't an MP and there wasn't one UKIP MP? Wtf did he meet him?

DGRossetti · 23/01/2018 17:18

I think he's still an MEP ?

So he gets airtime for being part of the EU ?

You really couldn't make it up .....

PortiaCastis · 23/01/2018 17:20

Don't give him online space either

YANBU I don't get it. He's completely powerless and irrelevant yet they seem to trip over themselves to get his opinion .
He's like a bad smell you can't get rid of.

I wonder too! I hate his views and the sound of his creepy voice.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 23/01/2018 17:23

Yes he is still an MEP but I'd bet my house that Trump doesn't know what one of those is!

YANBU - I think it's because he's considered a bit of a "character" who " speaks his mind" (read "twat") so media outlets think he's good value and he never turns down an invitation to self promote.

My DH reckons it’s because he’s a stirrer and the more he’s ignored the more he’ll stir until someone takes notice - so rather take notice sooner than later.
But yes, we had the same conversation

UKIP fuck me right off.

0.0% House of Commons
0.4% House of Lords
19 MEPs (of 751)
5 seats in Welsh Assembly
2 seats in London Assembly
0 seats in NIre
0 seats in Scottish Parliament
0 Police/Crime Commissioners
0 Mayors
1.2% share of Local Government

Why the hell do we give these batshit, racist, insignificant arseholes any freaking airtime or coverage whatsoever. Crawl back into the swamp.

The BBC became so scared of being accused of left wing bias that they’ve completely gone the other way. DH and I reckon it’s only a matter of time before he’s invited to read the bedtime story on CBeebies, he gets that much coverage.

Report
Unfinishedkitchen · 23/01/2018 17:34

And UKIP are a joke, the new leader refuses to stand down saying he’s staying to ‘drain the swamp’ whilst his girlfriend’s writing texts calling nurses ‘posh cleaners’ and jealous crap against Meghan Markle. These people are the swamp!

Report
goodbyeeee · 23/01/2018 17:36

Quite unfinished. If you drain the swamp that is UKIP you'll just be left with an empty hole in the ground.

Report
OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/01/2018 17:39

He gets airtime because whether you like it or not he forced the conservatives to give the UK the referendum, and with no House of Commons powers brought about the biggest change this country will go through since the war.

Maybe he's got dirt on someone.

It's because he's a train wreck, and obnoxious as he is, a train wreck gets clicks and views.

If people read about, watch or (importantly) react to Farage or anyone else, TV/radio/newspapers will continue to give him coverage.

Even negative comments like those in this thread encourage news companies to feature him - an annoyed audience is still an audience.

I like Nigel. He talks a lot of sense. I know a lot of people won’t agree

I agree. Fed up with hearing about Trump too. Let's concentrate on our own country.

Because like it or not he's got us out of Europe. Or nearly out. I quite like him. He's sincere and has common sense. Which is a lot more than you can say about quite a few politicians.
