AIBU to say that Tesco's Cheese and Jalepeno bloomer is the top spot in the supermarket baker aisle, followed closely by Sainsbury's sea salt and rosemary focaccia 😍

Lidl walnut and fig is pretty nice

thismeansnothing · 22/01/2018 20:29

Sod that lidls chocolate chip cookies in the fresh bakery counter bit. Oh ehm gee

Katescurios · 22/01/2018 20:32

Co op cheese and jalapeño loaf is so much better. Food of the gods!

LabradorMama · 22/01/2018 20:33

Lidl’s freshly baked pain au chocolat are better than the ones I buy in France Shock

Alienspaceship · 22/01/2018 20:34

Oh god, Lidl’s walnut and fig is divine. I can eat a whole one. With loads of butter...Grin

tealandteal · 22/01/2018 20:38

Nope, Tesco cashew, cranberry and raisin bloomer wins top spot for me!

wowfudge · 22/01/2018 20:38

Pretty sure the Co-op and Tesco breads, cakes, etc come from the same industrial bakery. The Co-op bake them off better though. The stuff in Tesco is often underbaked.

M&S are pretty good too.

DwangelaForever · 22/01/2018 20:40

M&S pretzel rolls and rustique baguettes are great too 😍.

I really need to visit Lidl more, it's too far away from me for my liking! I've never tried the co-ops bread. But their sausage rolls from the deli are the kings of sausage rolls!!

Morrisons salt and pepper bread, so good!

Trashboat · 22/01/2018 20:45

Lidl walnut and fig is pretty nice

Oh my god. It is fucking fit!!! I bought one once and nearly ate the whole thing with lashings of butter, before I had even put the shopping away 😱

Snakesandsnakes · 22/01/2018 20:47

Not quite in the spirit of the thread but my local Tesco now sells their fresh bread uncovered so any Tom, Dick or Harry might have picked up my loaf, coughed on it and put it back. I hate that.

LemonysSnicket · 22/01/2018 20:48

They’re all covered in flies 🤢

MadeinBelfast · 22/01/2018 20:48

M & S pecan and cranberry bread with loads of Lurpak is amazing! Aldi bread is pretty good too although their scones are so.eti.es a bit undercooked.

Leilani24 · 22/01/2018 20:49

Lidl’s cookies especially when they’re fresh out the oven, warm and gooey Grin

eyeswideshit · 22/01/2018 20:50

No one has mentioned tiger bread. I could eat a whole loaf.

MadeinBelfast · 22/01/2018 20:51

Sometimes! And I also meant Lidl, we don't even have Aldi here Blush

BikeRunSki · 22/01/2018 20:51

M&S walnut and cranberry

I’m not sure they do it anymore. DS no longer plays football next door to an M&S, so I don’t get to potter round one every Friday evening.

Eminybob · 22/01/2018 20:53

I like the tesco mixed olive one, spread with humous.
Not tried a lot of the other ones, but they all sound divine.
Why oh why oh why do I read these threads while on a diet Sad

jjune11 · 22/01/2018 20:53

M&S fig and walnut bread. Amazing.

Hohofortherobbers · 22/01/2018 20:54

Morrisons in store baked hot cross bun loaf, just pure joy. Bring on easter!

EggysMom · 22/01/2018 20:55

Sainsbury cheese twists.
Beat everything else hands down!

GeekyBlinders · 22/01/2018 20:55

We like Tesco Mediterranean bread and M&S Red Leicester and Cheddar loaf best.

I love Tesco's 3 cheese bloomer. Tried and failed to make it myself Sad

user1486076969 · 22/01/2018 20:57

Tesco and Sainsburys always seem to be undercooked.

ArbitraryName · 22/01/2018 20:58

I like M&S’s sourdough boules.
