Can anyone recommend their washing machine please??!***posting for traffic***

I realise this isn't and AIBU but I have four kids and a dog, DH is away and my bloody washing machine has broken down!

Can anyone recommend a large (at least 10kg) machine with a quick wash? I have to order ASAP, my wash basket is exploding.
To top it off the dog just rolled in fox poo, days like his make me want to go back to work

bosch brands are reliable, and their engineers are pleasant.. (don't blame the machine, it was user error)

Zanussi do a reasonably priced 10kg washer with a 30 minute programme.

Can't speak for the longevity of it though, have only had it for a few months.

I came on to say YABU for posting a AIBU not about AIBU but ah well.

Go for large drum and fast spin cycle. 1400 min spin, mine is a Samsung and I'm happy with it

We're very happy with our Samsung . I can't remember the model number, but since it is several years old you probably can't buy it anyway.

My top tip would be to buy from AO.com - the prices are not always the very cheapest but they are always competitive, there are lots of reviews that seem genuine to help you choose (including video reviews that are really helpful) and the best bit is they do next day delivery.

And no - I don't work for them

My washing machine engineer advised me never to get one with more than 1400rpm spin. He said any higher and it doesn't get the clothes much drier but wears the machine out MUCH more quickly.

No. We got a Bosch washer-drier and it creases the clothes badly, even if I set the spin slower. The old dirt-cheap Ariston was nowhere near as bad,

Miele are really good, or for cheaper but still reliable options, Bosch.

I bought my last one via John Lewis, which was the cheapest option at the time.

Miele are excellent - the initial outlay is high but you will not need to replace for about 15 years.

My Bosch Logixx has given us 11 trouble-free years of service. It has a 15 minute quick wash cycle which we use for almost everything, and the 1200 spin speed gets stuff surprisingly dry but not massively creased. It's quiet, too.

I'd get another Bosch in a heartbeat.

Love our Samsung Ecobubble - we got the washer dryer but there's a washing machine only one too.

I was going to recommend our Bosch washer-dryer as we've had the opposite experience to safariboot. We can even get away without ironing school trousers if we rescue them immediately the dryer stops.
(Even if you do have to turn the dial to a wash cycle to make it open the door!)

Don't use the dryer all the time - usually just when DS forgets to unpack his smelly muddy footie gear and it's Games the following day...

I'd also recommend the Co-op. Great quick service.

I have an 8kg Simpson ezi sensor. Would recommend, not sure if they do them in the UK though (presume that's where you are)

Don't get a Candy/Hoover one. My current washing machine is a Candy and is by far the worse washing machine I have ever had.

The only reason it is still here is it is insured. It breaks down on average every 3 months. It is also incredibly noisy.

I was looking at the samsung ones last week. Quite fancy one of those or as pp have said Bosch are supposed to be a good, cheaper machine.

Bosch for me. The spin cycle gets the washing much drier than our previous washing machines, and I was told that it's because they have more holes per square inch in the drum. No idea if it's true or not, but it made sense to me.
