To tell me my dustbin had blown into her garden and was repeatedly smashing against her wall.

It’s awkward as even if I knew about this, I doubt I’d have knocked to retrieve my bin back and relive her in the fear I’d have woken her up...

I’m not sure if she knew her rubbish had blown all over the street

MyOtherNameIsAFordFiesta Thu 18-Jan-18 17:18:05

Was there a particular reason that she couldn't move it herself? At least enough to stop it banging?

If she couldn't, then I think it was maybe fair enough if it was keeping her awake.

gamerchick Thu 18-Jan-18 17:18:19

What did she want you to do?

Kursk Thu 18-Jan-18 17:20:18

It’s a tough one, We are normally up and about from 6.00, earlier if there is adverse weather. So seems acceptable to me. But I know that others will tell you that it isn’t.

After storms in the past DH has been outside with a chainsaw at 5:30 in the morning, to clear debris to make sure the kids got to school ok.

I would assume she wanted you to go round and get your bin from her garden to stop it banging on the wall. Unless I am missing something.

MyBrilliantDisguise Thu 18-Jan-18 17:23:16

Why didn't she deal with it herself?

cherryontopp Thu 18-Jan-18 17:25:08

I'd have knocked her fuck out..

..Unless there was some vaild she couldn't move it herself and notify you later

ConfusedButInLove Thu 18-Jan-18 17:26:41

So she couldn't just pick up the bin and put it back on your side. Instead of potentially waking a full family. hmm
It's not like you asked the wind to blow it over just to annoy her. confused

myusernamewastaken Thu 18-Jan-18 17:26:54

Wow you sound nice @cherryontopp !!!

Sparklingbrook Thu 18-Jan-18 17:27:14

I'd have knocked her fuck out..

Come again?

minniemoll Thu 18-Jan-18 17:27:59

"Really? Thanks so much for telling me, I'll sort it when I get up," then stagger back to bed till a reasonable hour.

5plusMeAndHim Thu 18-Jan-18 17:30:06

well it was your bin, it was prob making a noise and damaging her wall and she wanted you to retrieve it. Was it scattering rubbish everywhere?
Not sure why others think it was her job to move your bin?

5foot5 Thu 18-Jan-18 17:30:14

Maybe this thing had been keeping her awake all night and she had waited until what she thought was an acceptable hour to say something about it.

InsomniacAnonymous Thu 18-Jan-18 17:30:37

I'd have knocked her fuck out..

Then you'd have been arrested and rightly.

mumonashoestring Thu 18-Jan-18 17:30:38

I wonder if she'd gone a bit gonzo after a night of bad sleep? Mind you you'd think then she'd have got off her bum a bit earlier and moved the thing herself...

Does she usually have a tenuous grasp on reality or is she normally fairly, well, normal?

Sugarcoma Thu 18-Jan-18 17:30:52

shock That is unacceptable unless you live in an isolated location miles from anywhere else.

5plusMeAndHim Thu 18-Jan-18 17:31:07

.. and is 6.30 all that early on a weekday morning?

ladystarkers Thu 18-Jan-18 17:31:42

Why didnt she move it? confused my neighbour knoocked the other day to let me know my cat wanted to come in.hmm

Sparklingbrook Thu 18-Jan-18 17:32:11

I think we need some more info OP.

IntoTheFloodAgain Thu 18-Jan-18 17:32:16

yabu you should have told the wind to stop it.

ThePants999 Thu 18-Jan-18 17:33:51

.. and is 6.30 all that early on a weekday morning?

Fuck yes.

lynmilne65 Thu 18-Jan-18 17:34:23

knocked her fuck ? What an excellent grasp of English you have !

mumonashoestring Thu 18-Jan-18 17:34:38

Depends - my parent live in a village on a very well used main road. If it wasn't for people in the village going out and clearing trees, branches etc. they'd have fairly regular deaths on that road from people rushing along poorly lit stretches to get to the motorway. If you know there's a problem that puts other in danger, dealing with it is not only acceptable, it's responsible. Certainly more useful than pearl-clutching over a bit of noise.

MumGoneMild Thu 18-Jan-18 17:35:03

I'd have knocked her fuck out..

Yeah, of course you would of dear...

5plusMeAndHim Thu 18-Jan-18 17:35:39

*and is 6.30 all that early on a weekday morning?

Fuck yes*

lucky you!
