AIBU?

To not like it so hard

I'm talking butter.

It pisses me off how hard it is straight out the fridge, but someone I know says that butter dishes are "poncey" and leaving the butter dish out of the fridge to be permanently soft is "minging".

So whats the solution?

Our butter is always out of the fridge in a butter dish unless it’s really hot in summer and it’s practically melting. We go through it fairly quickly so doesn’t get a chance to go off.

butter dish - it’s not minging (apart from height of summer) and it’s not poncey.

Wow. I didn't realise I was such a fridge-abusing freak!

I buy a big block and cut off a quarter at a time to put in butter dish so it doesn’t all go funny

Lakeland do a really good stainless steel insulated butter dish that keeps it reasonably spreadable. In the warmer months I just cut off a bit of the block of butter to put in the dish to last for a day or so at a time.

Butter dish. Keeping butter in the fridge is sheer lunacy and renders it completely unuseable.

Butterdish for the stuff to go on toast, seperate block kept wrapped in the fridge for cooking so you don't have to pick toast crumbs out of it.

Keep it in the fridge, put a blob on your toast and blast it with the kitchen blowtorch until spreadable.

Butterdish and refill it once a day with a block off the big block.

So there are now butter dish police!

Can people not just do things to enhance their lives without worrying about what other people think.

Butter here is always out on the side in Winter and colder months. In Summer just put what you need for that day in a small bowl/dish.

Butter is lovely.

Butterdish is left out winter and summer here. It doesn't go off - melts a bit in the couple o of days of summer..

I love butter. On toast. Missing it on my diet. Sad

Butter dish, although butter in our house goes so quickly it wouldn’t get the chance to spoil.
