AIBU?

To wonder if India lives on a different planet to the one I'm on?

Watching cbbbots and the 'interview' with the evicted housemate from Celebrity Big brother. India is first to leave and when asked if there are any regrets over the show the response was "at least I've stated conversation about it (trans issues) as it isn't talked about enough".

Isn't it?
Do I live in a different world?
I hear about it all the time. It's almost becoming a daily conversation.
Does anybody else share India's experience of it not being talked about enough (how that can be the case in the experience of a transwoman I find impossible to believe) or are people finding, as I am, that it is talked about so much that they find their head spinning?

The individual in question doesn’t stop talking long enough to know what other people are discussing.

They certainly display typical mansplaining behaviour.

India seems to have odd ideas. For example thousands of vagina photos to choose from in a NHS clinic? Hmm

Yes I did wonder how the photo thing worked, as the Doctor on the show I was watching last night , was simply trying to drag the skin to make the shape he needed, and said there was almost not enough room in the male skinny pelvis to make the opening.

I’ll give India 24 hours of access to my FB newsfeed. That’ll give them more than enough of an idea how much it’s talked about.

I think it’s doing a real disservice to what people go through to describe the very brutal operation in the way IW did. Like it was nothing..

(And I agree there’s no way there were loads of photos to choose from!)

I hear nothing about it. None of my life includes thus conversation.
I think it should be talked about although that conversation may be very different than the is Idiawiukd envisage.

I've instigated a few conversations, literally 3 or 4. My friends are already bored with me. Until something touches your life it's not something you care about generally.

You have to make allowances for her as she is simultaneously suffering from PMT (due to hormones) and puberty (due to lack of hormones) which excuses some truly bizarre, not to mention rude, behaviour.

You should obviously feel sorry for her as she is the most oppressed individual on the planet, and everyone hates her.

And the men don't want to sleep with her - the fact that they probably wouldn't sleep with a 51 year old woman either seems to have passed her by [baffled] - which is really mean of them.

I only ever see it talked about in certain internet places such as MN. Didn't even know it was such an issue for some until I found this site, TBH.

She must be doing something right judging on the number of threads she generates on here

Report

No, araiwa, haven't you realised; more threads are generated by hate than love Grin

Report
NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 13/01/2018 03:22

Errmmm araiwa have you read those threads? Doing something right? If you read those threads you'll see she's doing everything WRONG! People are talking about her not because she's starting a debate, because she's not. But because in fact she's doing the very opposite of it! She's telling everyone they are wrong and we all must live in India's world.
Courtney/Shane J is doing more for the Trans debate and he's not actually trans, Shane L is doing more by wanting to listen yet all he's got back was your all horrible you talk to Shane J more than me you don't accept me. Er India love he's trying to fucking understand he's terrified of asking you any Thing because the minute anyone does you go off on one!!

As some one said India seems to think she's the most persecuted indervidal ever and no one has ever experienced prejudice, she seemed genuinely shocked about johns experiences of racism, and tbh that it was so wide spread in the 70s and 80s football that John wasn't the only one suffering. She can only see her experience.

As for the does India live on a different planet, no I think we do, we discuss it more than most of the population I think she's right. The general population don't discuss it enough. But she hasn't started the conversation in fact she's entirely misrepresented the conversation.

I haven't watched. I saw the final line up and thought what an interesting mix. A chance to really educate and open minds as too the various different types of femininity created by the x chromosome blokes dressing as women . Maybe if society stopped trying to force everybody into a box less people would stop trying to force themselves into boxes no more cocks in insisting they are women . Well they fucked that up. I remember the very first innocent days of BB turned to total shit .

India is a narcissistic arsehole. The crap about 10k vaginas to look through to chose hers was ridiculous. As was comparing a very large and serious operation to getting a tooth out.

I think India will be loving the amount of attention she is getting though. And will just write off anything negative as transphobia..much like how Genuwine is transphobic for not wanting to shag her Hmm

No matter what gender she is (or thinks she is) she's just a horrible person.

Op I totally agree with you. I have no issue with people deciding they wish to have a sex change or live as the opposite sex all or some of the time. Sorry I don’t use gender as this is a social construct, which is a massive part of the problem. Putting people in boxes. As is the fact that we as a society are unwilling to accept others for who they are.

What I do object to is that males identifying as female placing themselves as more important than natal females. We are all equal... every single person on the planet. This is all very animal farm and society is taking a massive backward step for failing to see that in being terribly pc, it is throwing 50% of the population of the planet under the bus.

The delusions of this trans woman is the manifestation of that. It sounds as though you have found happiness yourself and am glad for you.

I absolutely agree with the pp who said Shane J is doing more for the debate than India. He seems so sensible and open to listening and gently putting forward his own ideas. India is so determined to have a 'debate' that she just shouts all over people.

This subject is not part of my daily life. I'm not really interested in it but I do think the desire and need to transgender is incredibly brave.
But Im glad that India has been evicted. What a truly awful self centred person.

Unfortunately India was so out there in terms of communication that it will be easy for people to label her as not being representative of the trans community, as surely they couldn't all be so obstinate and self obsessed Hmm.

Therefore I don't think it will do much to halt the men in the women's Olympics or bathrooms. Or the calls at our work ( thankfully ignored) to stop measuring percentage of women in senior positions as it's so dreadfully passe and donchaknow that there's all sorts of genders these days.

I feel very sorry for India. She's worked hard on a massive life change, including brutal and irreversible surgery, presumably because she thought it would make her a happier person. Now she is discovering it hasn't worked and she is still sad, lonely, the odd one out in any group. AND she's lost the status and privilege that an educated white male.enjoys in our society, something she probably didn't even realise she had until she lost it.

That being said I can feel very sorry for her and still dislike her! I wish she'd stayed in a bit longer. As many people have said she would be a nightmare to live with but she was fascinating to watch.

The trouble is IW will return to her bubble of 'yes you are a real woman' people, and will learn absolutely nothing from this.

He's a knobhead, I've seen comments saying that dude, ginuwine? Is a transphobe for saying he wouldn't date a TIM and India was really offended wasn't he?

That's because, India, heterosexuals generally aren't interested in people of the same sex.
