That pineapples don't grow on trees, but grow in the ground? I'm well educated, went to university (twice), but I had never thought about where my pineapple had come from, and it never occurred to me that the 'chopped' end was on the bottom and not the top!

What didn't you know until recently?

I'm 43. I just learned something about pineapples. Have now Googled am quietly amazed at the level of my ignorance. In mitigation I really don't like pineapple.

My XH used to bang in about how much he hated liver while getting through two tubs of pate a week.

I only buy them as "show pineapples" and have never eaten one.

I'm 39, 40 next week and didn't know they came out of the ground...

Don't Google cashews. They're really odd.

I've only recently found out Luxembourg is a country in its own right, I thought it was a Swiss city !

I hate liver in as much as a lump of liver on a plate with gravy etc. is disgusting. Pate doesn't have the same texture at all.

See! It's really amazing, isn't it? Pineapples do look like they should grow on trees Grin

Banana trees can walk, you say? Mmm.... I actually Googled that before I replied. Very interesting. I like it.

And cashews. I did know about those, but only a few months ago. No wonder they are so expensive!

Despite the fact that peanuts are also known as groundnuts, I'd never actually realised they grown underground like potatoes.

I found out about pineapples at around the same age as you. My 5 year old son asked me what pineapples grown on and I had to google it to find out. I had no idea.

Crocodiles walk along the bottom of the river on two legs. They aren’t always doing the floating log type thing. I also found out about pineapples when I was 38, maybe it’s a rite of passage and anyone realising sooner is peaking too soon.

We were once told by a zoo volunteer that hyenas give birth through their clitoris. Not sure if that is a fact i wanted to know but it certainly puts human birth into perspective a little

They don't grow IN the ground like potatoes, they just grow NEARER the ground than you thought.
