Now you can see Jamie's REAL kitchen! Jools Oliver sends fans into a frenzy with snaps of their VERY palatial £8.9M Grade II listed London home (including a £2K super king bed and a wood-fired oven)

I think it is gorgeous. The Daily Mail readership is divided, some believing that Jamie/Jools lack class, one even quoting the “You can take the boy out of Essex...” saying. I find the reaction baffling. It’s as if they do not appreciate style and good taste when they see it.
Or perhaps they are filled with envy? Who knows.

Who cares?

expatinscotland Mon 18-Dec-17 17:13:49

Who cares about a low-rent rag like The Mail, much less the Olivers? Get a life!

RoseWhiteTips Mon 18-Dec-17 17:15:04

I know it’s in The Mail but it’s so lovely - the house not the paper/rag!

Bluntness100 Mon 18-Dec-17 17:15:32

I haven't seen it and am not invested enough to go have a look. Sorry op

The mail (and its readers) love taking down commoners who have done well a peg or two. If it belonged to some chinless wonder aristo they'd be salivating all over it.

the bathroom is my favourite oh and the childs bed

RoseWhiteTips Mon 18-Dec-17 17:20:18

Love the unpainted floorboards.

RoseWhiteTips Mon 18-Dec-17 17:20:56

Drat. I can’t do links! Sorry!

christmaspudding1 Mon 18-Dec-17 17:21:08

oh god the daily mail haters have arrived and will blither on and on about the paper rather than the topic again

I thought the floorboards throughout didn't look very cosy. I also wondered where all their children's real toys were. I mean other than the tasteful wooden toys - where's the tat?

RoseWhiteTips Mon 18-Dec-17 17:24:19

A successful link to the business press...perhaps that is preferable for those of you with delicate sensibilities?

Archietheinventor Mon 18-Dec-17 17:24:26

I need a link!

christmaspudding1 Mon 18-Dec-17 17:24:29

people like that normally have a tat cupboard somewhere, same with the kitchen im sure there's packet pasta etc in a secret cupboard grin

Archietheinventor Mon 18-Dec-17 17:24:48

Aha, thank you 😊

LaurieMarlow Mon 18-Dec-17 17:25:10

Presumably in a cupboard, where mine would also be if someone came to photograph my house.

Archietheinventor Mon 18-Dec-17 17:27:05

I like it! But can’t get over his bad hair dye job

Orangecake123 Mon 18-Dec-17 17:27:26

I think it's cute.

RoseWhiteTips Mon 18-Dec-17 17:30:20

Yes, Jamie’s hair in that pic is a bit Dracula-ish. Painted hair job!!

Amanduh Mon 18-Dec-17 17:31:02

Daily fail comments section is always full of more bile than the paper itself and that's saying a lot. The bed isn't toy taste, the elvis sign and the things hanging from the ceiling are utterley hideous, but the house is completely lovely and most of the decor is too, especially the childrens rooms. Aside from that elvis thing the house actually isn't tacky at all so you can tell the comments section is mostly jealous trolls.

Amanduh Mon 18-Dec-17 17:31:33

To my taste.. not toy!

LakieLady Mon 18-Dec-17 17:31:35

The house is fabulous and has lots of original features, which I love, but what they've done with it really looks pretty ordinary imo. That bathroom is fabulous though, but I'm not sure I could live with seeing it day in, day out.

Viviennemary Mon 18-Dec-17 17:32:05

I did see it earlier. And thought it was a bit flash if I wanted to be super critical. But it was quite nice really.

TaliZorahVasNormandy Mon 18-Dec-17 17:33:25

Nice house. That wood fired oven must stink the house out when used.
