To think a woman who says she loves her dog more than her son is awful

Just read an article in the fail and there's a woman repeatedly saying how she loves her dog more than her son and husband. What an absolutely batshit individual. Not only that but how flipping awful for her son who will read that and have all his friends read that. Absolute loon, she should he ashamed

It's probably not true when it comes down to it. I wouldn't give it any more thought.

People say any mad shit for their 15 minutes of shame fame.

I expect they paid her too.

I read this yesterday, completely baffling. I thought it was some kind of jokey article but it seems not.
Why on earth would you say it out loud, never mind going public with it.

Shocked that her husband doesn't question her behaviours and rationale.

Her poor poor child

She might have a brain abnormality, tumour or something she might need to look into. I'm not joking either.

Maybe it was a joke comment? I've said the same about cheese (in jest). Granted not to a national arse rag newspaper.

I bet at some point in every dm day they secretly say this!
Sometimes I tell my dc I have no favourites, I loathe them all equally!
It's a dm prerogative to be batshit at times!

Wow totally agree, What a crap mother

I agree. And I'm an animal loving vegan who is crazy about my cats. Ds has even got upset with me before when he has asked who I love more - he would prefer me to say that I love the cats and him on an equal level! But no, how can you compare the love for your child with anyone else? So this woman, if she had to choose, would save her dog over her child in a fire? I don't really believe it.

I don't think shebwas saying it in a jokey way. She just appears to he a complete loon!

It's the DAILY MAIL. She will have been paid £800 plus a photoshoot so she can say this batshit crazy and people will talk about it on the internet and then head off to the website to tell her how batshit crazy she is.

If I were on the Apprentice my moneymaking scheme would be to set up an agency of actors prepared to tell the Mail that they love their cat more than their husband/breed dogs in a box under the bed/funded their Kate Middleton plastic surgery using their nan's housing benefit/whatever riles people most. I'd take 50% of their earnings and provide all the disguises and ludicrous backstories.

I’ve just read the article, I was hoping it was a joke but she seems serious?! What is with the weird crown she’s wearing in each pic too? I think she has severe mental problems and needs to see a doctor tbh. I feel so sorry for her son.

YANBU. Sadly it doesn't surprise me, there was a humans vs animals thread on here a few tears back where the OP asked "there's a burning building and a stranger's child and your pet, who do you save". The replies were shocking, they included people who'd save their horses before their own kids.

My friend loved her horse more than her husband. They are getting divorced now.

I read the article (not in the fail though) and was shocked she openly admitted to loving her dog more than her son. Now i love my dog very much but its a totally different love to the love i have for my son although i love them both the same at the same time

She freely admits her son will need therapy when he grows up. Hopefully Lola saves her £100/month for that poor boy.
The sad thing is I think she's telling the truth.

That's mad. I adore my dogs but honestly there is no comparison with the love I feel for my dc. Re my dh though - its a close thing Wink

Awful, cruel woman.

These things stay with children for a long, long time. My Mum once told me straight up that if she was facing Sophie's Choice I would be the one for the gas chambers because she would immediately reach for my sister. I've never forgotten how utterly unloved I felt in that moment. It wasn't an isolated thing, but I think it was the event that made me realise at the age of about eight, that because I looked like my father and not her, I would never, ever be loveable to her.

This woman's poor son must be going through something similar. The poor, poor kid. Even if she just said it for attention, it's damaging. I honestly think social services need to be involved with this family.

I totally think this is something she's cynically doing for money/attention, but what astonishes me about this is that such people must just assume that their children will completely 'get it' and understand it was just a persona/publicity thing. See also: Toby Young, who I think must imagine this is how his children will feel when they're older. I really don't think this is guaranteed...

Whether she's just a fame-hungry moron or whatever, her child will not forget this. She may have the feelings she claims but to say it and very publicly, is horrendous. My mother told us (3 sisters) when we were kids that she hadn't wanted us, she'd wanted boys instead. You NEVER forget things like that coming from a parent.

Bizarre. But so was that weeping bearded chap on the TV twenty years ago saying he was more upset at the death of the Princess of Wales than that of his own mother. People say some odd things and the so called newspapers are happy to report them.....

Having done a couple of DM features, I can say with certainty that it’s all made up bollocks. The ones I have done were a bit of fun and harmless, but they really do take the bare bones of it and blow it up into something unrecognisable.

I think this woman probably has some ‘troubles’ and limited intelligence. It’s a shame her husband or family haven’t stopped this before it went to press.
