AIBU?

How to kill time? Feeling a bit anxious.

Had a job interview yesterday. Was told that it would be likely that I'd hear the outcome by today (by email if unsuccessful, by phone if successful). I haven't heard anything yet, which is obviously completely understandable.

Hadn't planned anything for today, and just feel a bit at a loose end (I know I'm pathetic) and feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Any ideas on what to do? Was thinking of going out for a run just to do something and get out of the house for a bit.

Just been out for a run. Didn't go very far but glad I went.

Haven't heard back from job yet. Rang them earlier to ask when it might be likely to find out the outcome, and got put through to the answerphone of a member of their HR department.

Any suggestions about what I could do now please? I'm sorry to sound so pathetic. Ruminating a bit, I guess, and finding it really hard to stop myself.

Been looking for jobs for quite a few months now - since around March. Just watching mindless comedy videos on YouTube to distract myself.

Will add to my list of jobs that I want to apply for tonight, and will then get back to the job hunt tomorrow.

The fact that you havent heard from them tells me that they have offered it to someone else, but are waiting for that person to accept or reject the offer. If that person says no thanks it might come to you, especially if you follow up.

Just heard now, and it's not good news. Feel so frustrated with myself. I've spent several months now job-hunting, and I just haven't seemed to get anywhere. I know this sounds incredibly pathetic. I just feel really, really down.

So sorry to hear you had bad news OP. I just want to say that I spent 18 months deeply unhappy in my job, almost thinking about walking out to nothing so, so many times. It was a long time and it was a dark time, but I now have a job I love. After thinking it would never happen it did. I am sure you will get something really soon.

Thanks reachout and red Flowers. Just started another thread about it all. Applied for three jobs today so far. Just feeling so demotivated and shit.

Flowers - it makes you feel so shit. When the reality is that it's really not you; they probably already had someone else in mind, or one of the other candidates had something they liked. Don't let it knock your confidence. The right job is out there.
