To not want to hear Teresa Mays voice

I'm sitting here on MN but can hear Teresa May going on about something from the TV in the lounge. Going to have to get up switch it off. I just can't stand listening to her any more. It's like being back at school and getting told off by the Headmistress. I used to quite like her but what a pain she is now.

I still like her. She pulls some odd faces though. DH thinks she's a robot that sometimes malfunctions.

Sanshin omg yes! Your DH has nailed it. It makes sense now.

I don't think I've seen her malfunction apart from the coughing. Do robots cough. Grin You do have to feel sorry for politicians at times. Even PM's

Sanshin what do you like about her?

She’s a woman in a tough job making hard decisions. It would be great if there was endless money to splash around but there never will be. I’m tired of hearing Labour talk about all their ambitious spending plans without ever saying where the money would come from. You can’t even blame her for Brexit as she was a remainer.

I like her far more than I like Jeremy Corbyn and I am not a tory voter.

She has had a tough few weeks.

The election decision was not a good one. And she led a bad campaign.

But you have to admire her resilience.

I don't like listening to her because I think she sounds fake, like she's putting on her 'prime minister voice' - a bit like DH has his 'phone voice', iyswim?

Sanshin · 13/12/2017 16:50

I like her because she has balls. She's an example of a tough woman in a tough job making tough decisions. She's realistic and doesn't make ridiculous promises like labour do. Best prime minister we've had for a long time. Even if she does resemble a malfunctioning robot.

Good to see a woman in a tough job.

I'd be happy if she was replaced with someone who actually knew what they were doing. She's just constantly making bad situations worse.

I don't like her politics but I admire her style. There are some Tories I like for their charisma, determination, even their appearance.

Edwina Currie, Ken Clarke, Ruth Davidson. I'd never vote for them but public life is richer for their presence.

In the past I would have said Boris Johnson but he's gone too far. Fuck him.

We don't need a woman to have "balls". We need her to put country before Party, face down the hard Brexit loons, harness the support of the moderates, sack Davies, Fox, Gove and Johnson, replace them with skilled politicians and save our economy. She needs to woman up.

Report
MorrisZapp · 14/12/2017 07:57

Well yes, that too.

She has a horrendous voice. The break in it grates with me every time she opens her stupid mouth.

Report
falange · 14/12/2017 08:12

I feel really sorry for her. She's had such a hard time. But I admire her just for not giving up. I'd rather hear her than Corbyn. I dislike him a lot.

Report
GoingIn · 14/12/2017 14:31

Falange, tbf most of her 'hard times' have been her own doing. I don't want the country to be run by someone anyone feels sorry for, I want it to be someone capable who can get this country back on its feet again. It won't be theresa may or any of the current tory cabinet members.

MissUnderwood · 14/12/2017 14:33

I would sooner hear her voice than support Corbyn and his band of TRAs.

Report
GoingIn · 14/12/2017 14:39

If theresa may is the most capable out of all the tories then we truly are screwed. Surely they can find someone else who doesn't create more mess every time they open their mouth.

Whatever anyone makes of the rights and wrongs of Brexit, there's no denying that she's doing a bloody difficult job and just about getting there by the skin of her teeth. Being derailed by her own exit secretary who doesn't seem to realise that the EU executive can read English and therefore to shut the fuck up.
I have no time for the Tories in general but she's getting on with the job. Rather see her grimacing and malfunctioning from time to time than have Cameron's lubricated-condom-esque approach to media relations.

I like her, she's never going to please everybody but I think she's doing the best it's possible to do in a horrific situation.

The current government is weak and fractured but the opposition are coming across as a bunch of student union anarchists who I fully expect to rock up at parliament waving meaningless placards with their hair died purple/pink/blue any day now.

I have no idea what her voice sounds like-surely she's never said anything worth listening to?

Report
LukesDiner · 14/12/2017 14:51

Everything she says, she has to say 'let me be clear'. Like she's talking to 5 year olds. Let me be clear, I can't bloody bear it! Also, it is rubbing off on the other tories and they are saying 'let me be clear' as well. WHY??????
