AIBU?

To ask DH not to drink on a Sunday night?

He snores when he drinks, which means I start every week on precious little sleep.

I honestly don't know if he's drinking too much overall, but he does drink a lot (IMO) when he drinks.

We generally share a couple of bottles of wine on a Friday night, although I'll "only" have 2/3 bottle. His snoring on Fridays doesn't bother me, maybe because I'm soundo after a few drinks myself or maybe because there's not the same pressure to be fresh and on top of things on a Saturday morning as there is on a Monday.

Anyway, I don't drink on a school night so if he has a drink on a Sunday, it's on his own, often close to a bottle of wine (there's about a glass left this morning) or 3/4 bottles of beer. Not terribly excessive but more than the recommended daily limit.

However, it's not really the amount he drinks that concerns me but the fact that it makes him snore. AIBU to ask him to stop drinking on a Sunday night or to find somewhere else to sleep? He says he likes a drink on a Sunday to take the edge of going back to work - I do feel for him because I know he's not very happy at work ATM, but I can't change that for him.

Why not ask him and see what he thinks? Fwiw I think drinking a bottle of wine by yourself on a Sunday is a little excessive...

I would have booted him out ages ago or found a spare bed. Feeling like rubbish on Mondays is not fun.

I will be in the minority here but I don't see his drinking as excessive .. but the snoring would drive me nuts. And has. I divorced my ex, partly (although there were other reasons), on the basis of his snoring and inability to recognise it's impact. so I totally get where you're coming from. YANBU

Is there a spare bed he can take himself too on Sunday nights? Failing that I would say you are within your rights to request he doesn’t drink those nights.

AIBU to ask him to stop drinking on a Sunday night or to find somewhere else to sleep? Where is the 'somewhere else'? Palatial guest room or two-seater sofa?

Separate rooms.

I'd be more concerned about his drinking than your sleeping arrangements op.

The drinking wouldn’t bother me. The snoring would. Tell him to sleep in the spare room.

I have ended more than one promising relationship due to snoring!!

Deal breaker for me.
