To ask how much you spend on food a week..

At the moment we spend £100 on a food shop. Probably a top up for bread and milk.

Then a take away or eat out once a week.

There is 2 adults, 2 children and 2 cats &a I make OH lunches for work 6 days a week.

Desperately want to cut the bill down! I either shop at Tesco (mainly), Asda or Aldi.

Where do you shop? For how many &I how much do you spend?

I shop at Ocado and spend £60 a week for myself, DJ and DS (18 month).

I make lunches for DH also.

hi to be honest with the way food prices are going that sounds about right .i am over £100 a week and its just me hubby and teenage son .i have to pack a lunch for my sons work .oh and the fat greedy cat.
i shop in tesco and lidl .

Just moved down to £90 a week for the three of us including packed lunches all round. No alcohol. That's at Waitrose. It would help a lot if Dhabi wasn't low carbing, carbs are cheap!

If I knock toiletries and cleaning products off then probably around £50 per week for two adults from Tesco.

Thats for 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 6 dinners. I usually have guests in twice a week for coffee mornings/afternoon so that includes feeding them lunch or being able to whip up cakes/biscuits.

I tend to try and spend the bulk on fresh fruit and veg, yogurt, cheese etc and then buy reduced meat and cook accordingly so it makes each week quite varied. Always go to Tesco armed with your bonus points coupons to boost the vouchers each quarter!

If you can, loo roll, detergent etc always better to buy in bulk from Costco. then try and ignore the trays of pastries on the way to the till!

About 60 pounds a week for the three of us and our dog. We shop at the butchers and greengrocers and then get the rest from Tesco

Online shop is now around £140 a week. 3 smallish dcs, me, dh. Includes wine. It has crept up a bit since the referendum but really noticeably in the past month or so.

I've managed to get it down to between £60-£70 a week for 2 adults, one child full time and one 3 days a week. Packed lunches for DP and DD. Plus one 7 month old so nappies and wipes and stuff. I meal plan and shop at Lidl.
I was doing the weekly shop at ASDA and it was coming in at 80-90. We have lunch out at the weekend but usually at local cafes which have good deals/prices (favourite is a full English breakfast plus refillable tea for £3.50 pp.)

Way over £100 per week for me, dp, teenage ds and 6yr old dd.

Dd and I are vegetarian but buy meat for the boys and they both have packed lunches for school and work.

I do top ups of bread, milk and Diet Coke mostly.

I went food shopping on Saturday and spent £122 and didn't get lots of things, the prices have definitely increased.

Food shopping is our biggest expense.

We have a similar household to you and spend about £200 per week. Rarely eat out or get takeaway.

This does also include all household cleaning stuff, loo roll, wine etc etc.

It's high because we eat free range meat and also because I will buy unseasonal fruit and 'luxury' things.

DH makes his own lunch (as he should) which is leftovers from the night before (he prefers this to sandwiches).

Similar household to you and we spend about £150 a week. I read threads where people spend half that and wonder where I go wrong.. we had a period on income support and managed on very, very little but it was absolutely miserable. The way we eat at the moment feels comfortable, we like to have a few treats and better quality meats etc.
