Not an AIBU - posting for traffic.

Is Jack Wills popular amongst 13 year olds? Specifically girls in this case.

My two teens (boys) are a bit older and aren't keen. What are you thinking of getting?

Love the body lotions and creams and sprays and I'm 25 years over 13.

My 12.5 year old absolutely loves the smellies, bags, accessories, socks - stuff like that, she isn’t as fussed on their clothes. She gets most of her stuff in cheaper shops but for some reason Jack Wills clothes come way further down the wish list than other shops.

Thanks all, I was thinking of getting hoodies which are quiet branded, so they'd either love them or hate them going by your replies!

So tricky to know what's really popular or totally uncool for this age!

I guess I could keep the receipts but they are so polite they would probably say they liked them even if they didn't.

When DS1 was a bit younger one of his friends came round with a sweatshirt from there with the large 'JW' logo on. I was really confused as although his first name started with a 'J' his surname didn't start with 'W'. Blush

Are vouchers out of the question?

What's cool now Teal?

JW isn't something that my (nearly) 13 year old has ever expressed an interest in.

Hollister and Superdry, are they still 'cool'?

Report

Hmm Sparkling it seems that sportswear by Adidas Originals, Ellesse and Fila is cool now. Anything from JD Sports and urban Outfitters. My two went through a JW phase a year or so ago and I wish they still were as I’ve found the clothes to be well made, and I like the ‘wholsomeness’ of the styles and the brand in general.
But I appreciate it can be a regional thing that differs even from school to school.

According to my 17 yo and 13 yo, Jack Wills has kind of had its day. Cool a couple of years back but on the way out now.

Sparkling, Hollister is ok but I think superdry has become less aspirational! Again a shame as I like their stuff.

My nearly 18 year old has worn JW for years and has asked for another hoody for Christmas, he likes the fact they always look good even if they have worn them forever

Hear it has changed to adidas, girls wearing oversized hoodies and a huge logo. JW is still about but not as Wow.

My 12 yr old DSD (year 8) specifically asked for JW stuff this Christmas. We've bought her the gym bag with toiletries which is in the 3 for 2 gift offer.

It's good quality and quite classic in style.

I agree it could be regional and from school to school.

Dh has taken DS2 (15) clothes shopping this morning, be interesting to see what they get.

Weirdly Primark is always deemed acceptable. Confused But sports stuff he is fussy about. DS1 (18) has started to get into unheard of (to me!) brands that are ££££s.

NumberEightyOne · 02/12/2017 10:04

Yes, Primark does seem to be OK

My 13yr old likes Jack Wills-but is mainly into adidas (& looking chavvy-her words not mine!)
She does also like hollister though and a bit of superdry.
