A member of my staff wrote this today
I presume she meant potato veg bake
I'm going to have to sack her
Or kill her
Or take away her pen or something

Aibu to be contemplating any of the above?

Tinselistacky Fri 01-Dec-17 20:17:53

Beat her with a leek?

KiaOraAura Fri 01-Dec-17 20:18:42

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

BTW I read it as vadge. There's a thought. . . . Definitely sack her if that's the case

Ttbb Fri 01-Dec-17 20:19:56

You've completely misunderstood. She didn't mean Porato veg bake, she meant Russian Potato Veg bake.
In soviet Russia, vedge bake you!

HemanOrSheRa Fri 01-Dec-17 20:20:06

Ooh. Maybe Potato WEDGE bake? Take away her pen, sack her, THEN kill her grin.

John4703 Fri 01-Dec-17 20:21:08

YANBU.
Sacking her is BU.
Killing her humanly is BU
A slow lingering painful death is NBU

insancerre Fri 01-Dec-17 20:22:44

It was definitely veg
I asked a second member of staff

Originalfoogirl Fri 01-Dec-17 20:24:56

Beat her with a leek

Surely that should be “leak”

HemanOrSheRa Fri 01-Dec-17 20:27:32

Oh well. Definitely make sure you get her pen. Precious things, pens. People are always nicking pens round 'ere.

RJnomore1 Fri 01-Dec-17 20:29:30

I also read it as vadge

So it could have been worse

insancerre Fri 01-Dec-17 20:30:16

It could have been worse
I had to read it to the parents

Taffeta Fri 01-Dec-17 20:31:36

Revoke her pen license immediately

And screen ban until she passes a basic spelling test

FFS

RJnomore1 Fri 01-Dec-17 20:36:42

I read the pens in the post above mine wrongly too

I've not even had a drink

AtleastitsnotMonday Fri 01-Dec-17 20:39:41

Our school regularly serves yougurt

insancerre Fri 01-Dec-17 20:40:42

I might demote her to a pencil
Then I can rub it out
But, then, she will never learn the error of her ways
No one ever told me that being a manager would be this difficult

yorkshireyummymummy Fri 01-Dec-17 20:43:47

You are not in the least unreasonable to want to beat her with a leek and maybe shove a carrot somewhere painful.
I have to confess to clicking in this thread simply because it didn't have loads of replys yet and I wondered if anybody had corrected your spelling because I was going to so I could feel smug
I think I'm a bad person.
I going to revoke my own pen licence ( have to write the Christmas cards in crayons then!!!)

CheshireChat Fri 01-Dec-17 20:49:42

So not only she didn't double check, you're the one that was embarrassed in front of parents?

You sure you haven't annoyed her recently?

I'm quite disappointed though, I was hoping for a recipe.

insancerre Fri 01-Dec-17 21:05:18

A recipe?
I'm not even sure potatoe vedge bake exists
I've never seen it on the menu
I've never thought, "I just fancy potatoe vedge bake for tea tonight"

Moanyoldcow Fri 01-Dec-17 21:12:03

Does this information get disseminated? Or is it just for you?

I'd have vommed a bit in my mouth reading it though...

CheshireChat Fri 01-Dec-17 21:14:17

True, but I just thought you didn't preview your post or something and were about to share an amazing recipe if potato wedge bake.

Can you tell I'm hungry?

TrinitySquirrel Fri 01-Dec-17 21:19:02

"Beat her with a leek" blush

I'm fucking crying laughing!
