If you don't want to click, (my thread title sounds very click bait but shock is my genuine reaction.) it is a link for a Fisher price toy. what can only be described as a child's exercise bike with a place to put your tablet on, so they can play video games.

I cannot believe this is what the world has come to.

It's an interactive game, along the lines of a wii or an arcade racing game.

Nothing wrong with it Confused

I can’t get worked up about it. It won’t stop kids going outside on real bikes or walks but might give them a bit of exercise on days when it’s driving rain and wind outside. Were you equally outraged when the switch was announced? Which is the same thing but without the exercise element?

Hadenoughoftumble I'm not a fan. I think for this its the fact it is aimed at preschool.

It’s aimed at 3-6 years. I won’t be buying one for my kids (mainly because it’s £120) but don’t see the problem with it.

What’s your issue with it?

I just don't see the need to encourage a child of that age range to be stuck indoors playing videos games.

It's winter. Kids will be stuck indoors in this weather anyway. If it keeps them amused what's the issue?

These have been around for about ten years. My nephew had one when he was a toddler and he’s 13 now. Top set for all subjects at high school. Plays the piano, learns Latin and plays two team sports.

It would have been perfect for my dsc who has cystic fibrosis. Great for physio over the winter especially, and the age range from 4-7 where dsc was always reluctant to do physio.

I’m sure there are worse culprits than this to get worked up over, tablets or mindlessly watching tv for hours. I’ve been guilty of letting my children do both but I’m actively changing that. If parents let their children have an hour on this just like they would a board game, craft etc then I really don’t see the issue.
