No, I thought it was very funny, it was in the paper yesterday - the way they described it was like he was bungee-d by the rope, but they had a pic of him and said Victim: as if he'd died, felt bit guilty, but he survived without a scratch

Just the headline made me choke on my eggy sarnie! It doesn't really need a pic - just the mental image is funny enough pmsl

The Daily Mail named him yesterday. Poor sod. His mum described him as being 'slight' hence him flying into the belfry with the rope - that'll go down well at his school .

I know where that Church is as well - bet the local paper will have him on the front page next Thursday.

my DS (aged 10)is just about to start learning bell ringing and I think you are all mean and nasty, poor lad!

Christ! Why is it funny? He could have broken his neck. Once the stay breaks the bell just swings round and round and the rope winds up like a bobbin. He was lucky that he didn't just fly up hit the roof of the ringing chamber crack his skull open and then fall back down and break both legs.

Why is it funny? Don't understand.....is it the context?
