I used to order on a Saturday and things would be delivered on Sunday.

My last few orders have been delivered in a couple of days... I ordered yesterday and thing are being delivered on Monday.

AIBU or is Prime less valuable now; I might as well use the free delivery---- option?! 📦

I’m finding the same. But do you the free delivery option will be even slower?

I’ve had one item not delivered the next day due to the couriers incompetence.

Are the items that you are ordering listed as having next day delivery?

e-mail them and they'll give you an extra month for free. they are usually pretty good

I've had items that come the same day, some come next day but quite late at night and then I ordered a present last week for next day delivery that came two days later.

On my non prime account I ordered some workbooks and they came the next day, I'd clicked the free delivery option and they said they would arrive 29th November so not sure what happened there!

I put it down to all the black Friday deals at the moment.

Totally agree, Amazon are losing the plot when it comes to delivery, it seems to be a rare occurrence to have an item delivered the next day on Prime and the super saver delivery takes ages. Perhaps they have a new warehouse on the moon! Can’t be bother to complain, I will just cancel.

It tells you what the delivery date will be and it does depend on what time you order. I’ve only had one delivery not arrive on the stated day and I have had amazon prime for years.

Yes, I'd noticed that on the weekend. Irritating.

Mine have always been delivered the next day, until the things I’ve ordered this week, so I’m putting it down to Black Friday.

Oooooo strange you mention this, I notice this last night. Says get it by Tuesday basically on most prime items. Normally I always get it the following day...it’s why I use them.

I have prime. Friday orders now often delivered Monday as well. This never used to be the case. I don’t remember amazon telling me of any policy change. I was really pissed off when it happened the first couple of times. Now I have to be organised when the whole point of having prime is that you don’t have to be.

I recently ordered something stated to be on Prime only to get an immediate message that it would not be delivered for two weeks. I didn't specifically need it quickly, but I really don't see the point of describing something as qualifying for Prime when it clearly doesn't.

The infrastructure is struggling to cope with the demand at the moment I think.

I haven't noticed any changes. I've ordered loads this week and all came the next day (if they were meant to, obviously). I've never had anything late from amazon prime.

Amazon have changed there policy. There is information on their site. Prime means free delivery now ( plus amazon music and tv) but not necessarily free next day delivery.

No problems here either; everything I've ordered has arrived on time. I've just checked a couple of items in my basket and they say that delivery will be by Monday/ Tuesday instead of the usual next day delivery but they're making that very clear and it's understandable with Black Friday having been yesterday. And that's still much quicker than the free delivery usually is.

I've noticed them being much better recently after I complained that there was no point them repeatedly trying to deliver to my work address (which is completely inaccessible out of work hours) in the evening for three days in a row, despite being listed as a business address on their system.

I don't get things delivered at home, because of course they don't do home deliveries in the evening, they do them in working hours Hmm.

But honestly, give them a break. It's Christmas/Black Friday, they are probably operating beyond capacity.

Hmm I'll find them the benefit of the doubt this week.

To the PP that said they notify you of the delivery date- I do see that so I known when the packages are coming it's more that Prime items always used to be "order now for delivery tomorrow" and now they're not!

Yes, prime delivery meaning next day is becoming the exception rather than the rule. I get prime half price, I certainly wouldn't bother otherwise now.

I’m thinking of cancelling mine. Not because it’s not up to scratch but because of how absolutely hideously bad for the environment it is. I used to be quite organised - worked out what I wanted and then ordered multiple items at the same time to qualify for free delivery. Now I just click and a delivery driver arrives (generally) the next day. Sometimes 3 in a day if I have been particularly trigger happy. We live in the sticks so I have probably quadrupled my diesel footprint with all these vans.

Although I have to say, I'd rather order from Amazon and wait than deal with the queues and people in shops this time of year! It's like they turn feral and need to grab everything!

Yeah at the moment it’s slow because of Black Friday/ cyber Monday. Although that said I can’t say I’ve had a problem with it. Yeah I’ve had a few items turn up late but that’s likely the courier/delivery driver rather than amazon (we don’t get their own couriers round here). I’m still impressed you can have stuff delivered on a Sunday so mayb I’m easily pleased!!

AutoCat · 25/11/2017 07:29

They've all been next day for me up until today (unless I've missed the evening cut- off point). I've ordered a few things during the past week which were all next day and I ordered something on Thursday which came on Friday so I'm putting it down to Black Friday.

I have noticed that it is rarely next day delivery anymore. Had a few items recently whereby I was told they would be with me the next day but it doesn't arrive until the following day.

When I complain they blame the courier.

I did order stuff yesterday expecting it to arrive today, but it is showing as Monday even though it's Prime. No explanation did that so I assume they are just busy?

I did do live chat with them yesterday as one of my orders I needed to cancel as I ordered the wrong item. Their website and app wouldn't allow me to cancel and kept chucking up an error even though it wasn't meant to be delivered until Monday, so I should have been able to cancel easily. Amazon said they are having issues with their site and with the delivery times and even they couldn't cancel it so I will have to return it when it arrives
