AIBU?

to think when threads go pffft....

..because the Op decides it is too identifying, that she should think BEFORE she posts not 20 pages in.It's fu**ing annoying when people have become invested shared their experiences and advice, (which would also help other people in the future) just to decide to get it all wiped.
Fuckwits! Engage your brain include a few false details so it isn't identifying!

Sometimes things slip without people realising, or what seemed like a good idea at the time later turns out to be a mistake. Don't be so judgemental.

Ah I think I know the one you mean but didn't see OPs last comment...

Op said it had all worked out fine but didn't give any further details i don't think.

It was a shame with that thread.Especially for the others who are having similar issues.
It's nice to know that the OP is happy with the outcome. But would of been nice to know what happened to A and B.

Not one thread in particular, it happens very often!

Love how people name change because it could be outing or want the thread pulled for privacy when they've revealed sod all that's identifying

They live in a house in a street have a husband and a child and they think they'll be recognised

malcomTucker · 22/11/2017 01:27

It seems to be when a majority of posters are disagreeing with them and they suddenly feel it's "outing".

I have no idea why so many posters feel the need to hide their names on entirely innocuous threads.

What happened to yesterday's thread about disabled toilets being shared with nappy changing tables? The OP seemed to be genuinely making a valid point. I was halfway through reading it and it was removed. For what?

I was quite pissed off when I appeared in the daily mail talking about fruit - I had no forewarning, I check the papers online every morning and squinted in horror when I saw myself quoted - but then metaphorically shrugged my shoulders and thought I'm not interesting anyway, so it didn't really matter

What happened to yesterday's thread about disabled toilets being shared with nappy changing tables?

OP was a troll. A PBP here to goad.

Report
BulletFox · 22/11/2017 02:07

It's quite difficult to tell sometimes when it's a troll.

I get a bit annoyed when someone starts a thread when they appear to be in intense distress, and you want to talk to them, then it disappears.

I understand the reasoning behind it but you just want to check they're ok

Report
SilverySurfer · 22/11/2017 02:34

It's irritating as hell and I wouldn't blame people who decided not to share their experience if the thread is going to be shut down, especially by a flouncer who doesn't like the replies if they don't agree with them.

Report
Domani · 22/11/2017 03:20

paxillin what!? A disabled person talking about problems in disabled toilets? I must be missing something, I just don't get it?

Report
CheapSausagesAndSpam · 22/11/2017 03:24

Well sometimes, threads grow enormously and people don't expect that. Then they realise the media's got hold of it and crap themselves.

YABU really.

Yes, but disabled toilets? Really?

Report
BarbaraofSevillle · 22/11/2017 03:50

I'm constantly astonished about what people make up. Like the thread the other day that was deleted where the poster claimed to be a woman in her 40s who had to be weighed in her underwear in front of a young man (who was an administrator not a doctor or a nurse) as part of a pre-employment medical.

It was deleted 'while MNHQ look into things'. I haven't looked for the thread again, but I assume that they never come back in those circumstances.

Can someone please explain whst is a PBP and what is goading about a disabled person talking about disabled toilets? Be very grateful for replies on this, thanks.

PBP is a previously banned poster. As for the goading thing..... imagine someone starting a thread saying that they were disabled and couldn’t get to the wheelchair space on a bus because there were buggy’s. So a disabled person talking about disabled spaces. However the OP isn’t disabled and knows that although the majority will agree with them you’ll always get the minority who will argue why their baby in a pram has more rights to the space then a disabled person.

Firecracker ,

I understand your frustration. There are lots of reasons why it is better to remove. Maybe op did change facts but was worried it wasn’t enough. There is a great interest in some threads perhaps more than the op thinks there will be.... what with all the daily fail journos around, would you take the risk with something that may effect your dc and other people’s?

I agree it is a shame though, there is lots of great advice to be found on mumsnet. It’s one of the best resources I’ve ever had.

Oh and YABU for making assumptions about other people’s decisions and calling them ‘fuckwits’.

Report
dorislessingscat · 22/11/2017 06:47

YABU. Threads are not soap operas for your entertainment. These are sometimes people in distressing, stressful situations. The comfort and safety of being able to pull a thread is important.

Domani · 22/11/2017 06:49

Thanks Robin but how do e
we know the OP isn't disabled?

The School thread was really unfortunate as so many people had invested time and energy giving the OP support.
