To want chips

I'm full of cold. Have been wrangling a grumpy, teething, potty training 2 year old all day.

I can either drive 20 minutes to the nearest town - so a 40 minute round trip.

Or I can cook something healthy. I have fish in the freezer and veggies in the fridge. But no potatoes or potato based products to make fake chips with.

I really really want chips (and cheese and gravy). But cannot be arsed to go out.

I sometimes really miss city living

I assume you can’t get it delivered?

Is there no one that does delivery? Or a friendly neighbour on their back from town about now? I feel your pain gin

If you can't get it delivered then make the trip. 40mins isn't a-typical of a normal commute anyway. If you have a craving that strong you will find a way.

No ubereats or deliveroo round these parts. We don't get uber full stop.

I can get an Indian delivered. But I don't want that. I want soggy bendy chips with thick stand your chips upright in it gravy.

The thing is that it is my commute.... But it is the end of my week of annual leave and I'm objecting to doing my commute for chips.

One of the village pubs wanted to open a take away chippie. But parish council objected worried about litter

Ask a neighbour to borrow a couple of potatoes? 🍟

Albertschair Fri 17-Nov-17 19:21:38

I also want chips
My dh made me carrot chips. 10 out of 10 for him to help my diet. But I wanted chips

I've just had carbonara but I might make chips later. When DP has gone to bed.

Bloomed Fri 17-Nov-17 19:26:03

Could you buy one or two portions of chips from a village pub?

bumbleymummy Fri 17-Nov-17 19:27:39

Does your Indian not sell chips? Ours does!

Albertschair Fri 17-Nov-17 19:29:26

Sadly bumbley it sells fries.

These are not chips

No Hungry House or Just Eat services available?
Oh dear.
My DH is on his way home with chips as I type.

Albertschair Fri 17-Nov-17 19:35:19

I texted dp a hopeful 'bring home chips?' But dp was already driving and very sensibly didn't read it until home.

DancesWithOtters Fri 17-Nov-17 19:36:42

Send him back out!

DontTouchTheMoustache Fri 17-Nov-17 19:37:49

Send DP back out for chips...? grin
