What would you change?

One change, and it can be absolutely anything.

I'd take the road building budget and spend it on proper walking/cycling infrastructure.

Men to be better held accountable for sexual violence. Laws to change more in favour of victims. Actors who’ve committed sexual crimes to never be allowed to act again. We don’t need rapists being worshipped.

Pay equity and opportunities for women.

All the profs were men, all the admin workers were women this morning.

Sucks.

For it to be utterly socially (and legally) unacceptable to not pay maintenence and to not see and properly share the parenting of your children. For absent parents to face charges of neglect if they just disappear from their children's lives.

Ah yes if I was supreme leader there would be lots of infrastructure projects everywhere (capturing fresh water, retaining walls to prevent mud slides, strict building codes) everyone would be employed in whatever capacity they are able to perform.

IWannaSee how about something like the USA where you can’t get a driving license/get it taken off you if you don’t pay maintenance?

" Actors who’ve committed sexual crimes to never be allowed to act again."
Agree. And presidents who've committed sexual crime never allowed to president again.

Social mobility, even in my lifetime it seems the escaping poverty after being born in poverty is getting more difficult.

That would be a good start Athome. But I'd like it to be something that is so unacceptable that it would just not occur to someone to do it.

A cap on how much profit you can make from selling your home. My friends parents recently sold up after living in the same house in london for 25 years.... I don't need to tell you how obscene the amount they made from the sale was.

I realise it's probably a policy full of holes though.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds You will I am sure agree with this: PWC not to be allowed to move to another country or area if that would hamper contact.

Lots of things but one thing I always think I would do if in power - A limit to people owning properties - e.g. you can but one to live in and one Max to let out (if that!), so you don’t get landlords pushing up prices out of reach of first time buyers by buying multiple properties to let

Laurie Not only was nursing an attraction for overseas personnel, it was a target retraining career in the UK. We've probably lost a lot of good nurses in all areas as scrapping the diploma & then introducing tuition fees us not making nursing affordable as a career choice.

I presume butingheads means she would reverse the abolition of bursaries for nurses - I hope!

Mostly I would support that, with the proviso that nrp is financially supporting the family so that moving in order to get work so you can feed the kids isn't necessary. In those cases where there is no employment and parents are 'stuck' because there is no work and they cannot move, I would give a lot more financial support from the state, so parents and children can have a decent standard of living.
In my utopia, no child would be living in poverty.

Free school meals for all kids (because just because a parent can afford it doesn’t mean they will provide & children need equality & opportunities)
For anyone aged 16-20 coming from a poor family to be provided free higher education (inc university) & accommodation & living expenses benefits whilst in education, for the duration of the course.
For entrepreneurship courses to become mandatory in high school to increase the number of small businesses in this country.
