Just thinking back on a weird experience from several years ago.

I was walking along a narrow country road by myself, on an overcast, rather oppressively humid summer's day. It was a couple of miles from my home and I had travelled the road quite often by car, but never on foot.

All of a sudden I began to have the strangest feeling that something terrible was going to happen if I stayed on the road any longer. I shook it off and kept walking. The atmosphere changed. The birds were still singing, there wasn't anyone in sight... I can't explain but it felt like the hedges were almost coming closer together around me. Like a really oppressive feeling on this beautiful, deserted road.

Eventually I rang home to get someone to come and lift me, claiming to have felt a few drops of rain starting to fall. I was too embarrassed to give 'intuition' as my reason.

It was such a strange feeling, not one I've ever had before or since, there or anywhere else. I am totally non-woo but think maybe there was some reason I wasn't meant to stay there that day- it was very narrow and winding and I could have been hit by a car easily, I suppose.

Anyone else ever had gut feelings about things, either rightly or wrongly?

The night my mum died I woke up crying, I knew she'd died. We got the call from the hospital an hour later.

Yes. But I still don't really believe it as I'm the least woo person I know. It's too personal to talk about and I'm putting it down to coincidence.

Still weird though.

I had a sort of vision that I was walking down the St with 2 x dd called x and y. My baby days were over but lo and behold found myself in a new relationship and had 2x dd and knew their names already!! Prob not names I would have consciously chosen.
Years later same thing, man named x worked at y. ....
Met a new man called x who worked at y.

Sometimes I have a premonition in my dream but the signs can be fairly subtle, I can also think of something during the day and then it happens (that's a bit scary actually)..

My mum and stepdad picked me up from University, years ago, and we were driving home. It was a long journey and I'd felt uncomfortable about it for days. Long car journeys dont bother me, but I felt something was going to go wrong and kept thinking of the wheels.
One of the tyres blew on the motorway and caused the car to swerve, nothing bad happened and we pulled over safety onto the hard shoulder. Some staff from a nearby motorway service station saw it and brought us all a cup of tea!

Dont know if I'd call this a premonition exactly, maybe just coincidence.

I had a dream that my mum was holding a baby. The next morning my sister phoned me up and told me she was pregnant. I now know she was showing me my beautiful nephew that she was sending to me.

I recently dreamt I was at my uncle's funeral to be told a week later he has terminal cancer. He was not ill begore this very fit and healthy and it came out of nowhere.

I allways trust my intuition.

I often have extremely vivid dreams which turn out to be true. I predicted my friend's pregnancies both times as well as the fact she'd left her husband (she was living abroad so I wasn't in regular contact,)

Equally I had a dream about a friend who was in real trouble, wife was seriously ill, they had some major financial issues, etc, and on both occasions he came to visit and when I opened the door he fell into the house saying that they were in trouble. So I rang him, and the first words he said on the phone were the exact words he had said in the dream.

On Friday night I had an extremely vivid dream about a member of ex's family. I can't go into any more detail than that because it would be outing, but I woke up and had to go and look to see if my dream was in fact real. And in truth I haven't yet 100% been able to establish that all is ok.... Having said that, I imagine that I have probably also had similar dreams which have turned out not to be real and as such I have dismissed the other happenings......

I once knew without doubt I was going to win a hamper in a raffle. I was on my feet, halfway up to collect it when my number was pulled and called. The only other time I had felt such certainty was that DS1 was a boy. Would have been totally shocked if either hadn't happened.

Several - even though I don't believe in them!

one of the strongest was when I was staying with my parents in our holiday home. I suddenly got this overwhelming urge to suggest a stay with my brother as well; the first time we'd had a family holiday in about 11 years.

When we all went in October, a few months later, I had a really really vivid waking dream that DM had died. She was slim, fit, only 50 and in great health, but the dream shook me. So much so that I actually woke up properly crying. Parents had gone out for bread and newspapers, so I told DB to break the dream and we discussed who would cope better if the other died, DF or DM.

3 weeks later my wonderful loving beautiful DM died of a brain haemorrhage which hit out of the blue.

I asked a doctor friend about it and she thought that possibly I had noticed DM was behaving a bit unusually and my subconscious had picked up on it. With hindsight that turned out to be totally correct; I HAD noticed stuff that was out of character on the holiday. Things like her snapping at me for no reason; putting the newspaper in the fridge and the wine in the bin - that sort of thing. Tiny things but I think that perhaps explains the dream better than a premonition!

This is going to sound weird, but when my friend was terminally ill with cancer, I had a vivid dream one night: we were having dinner at hers and she was recovered and looking like her former self, like she had before the illness took hold.

When I woke up I was told she'd died during the night. That dream was a huge source of comfort to me, never experienced anything like it after that.

A teacher at school was ill, she'd been off about 6 months. We (students) hadn't heard anything since, I don't think we even knew she was terminal.
One night I had a dream that I bumped into her in town and we had a lovely long conversation. The next morning at school there was a photo of her with some candles near reception - she'd passed away during the night.

As a teen I had a dream about a violent burglary that was going to occur in our house and a specific family member would surprise the burglars and a knife would be used. It happened within a couple of weeks of that dream, absolutely loads of the details were exactly as I'd dreamt. Still freaks me out 30 years later...

When I was a teenager I was walking home from school and I suddenly thought to myself "if my dog died, would I bury or cremate him?". It was very random as my dog was young and not expected to die. When I got in the door, I was told my dog had just died. I'll always remember it. A few strange things have happened like this.

I don’t believe in any of that sort of thing usually but I once had an awful nightmare while on holiday that my brother (12ish at the time) had fallen on train lines and had a big electrical burn up the side of his leg and arm. When I got home the next day I discovered that he’d fallen off his bike that day and had big friction burns exactly where I’d dreamt them. It was very uncanny.

Don’t know if this counts but while I was pregnant earlier this year I had a dream about my dad. He passed away 9 years earlier and I rarely dream of him. We had decided not to find out the gender of the baby and the dream was of my dad coming to the hospital to meet the baby and it was a boy.
All the other “signs” I’d felt/seen while conscious were that the baby would be a girl, we’d decided on the name Iris if baby was a girl and kept seeing rainbows (Iris means Rainbow) in the sky/made by light through windows and the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls repeatedly played on the radio which I thought was odd as it’s an older song.
We had a boy and I can’t help but feel my dad came to tell me.

The whole room scoffed me when I said that Terry Waite would not be coming back in a hurry. I don't know what made me say it as I am not the brightest spark when it comes to political situations. I just knew.

Oh, I also dreamed I miscarried the a few days before I had a scan which showed I’d had a missed miscarriage. And in this pregnancy I dreamt I’d had a bleed both times before I did (all was fine though). But that could all be coincidence.

Not so much a vision of something happening in my case, but I have never felt the way I felt during my strange experience either before or since.

On Father's Day twenty-one years ago exH and I and the three DCs we had at the time went to celebrate in the home of friends. Three families were there, all with babies and small children, and everyone was having a jolly time. As the afternoon developed, however, I began to feel as if I had got lost in a dense fog, and gradually started to feel as if I was suffocating. My breathing was shallow as if I was having an asthma attack, and I had to clear my throat frequently. I did not have asthma.

The instant we left the house and I could breathe the outdoor air I began to feel a little better, but the foggy sensation remained.

I slept fine that night but found out the next day that my Dsis had suffered a severe asthma attack the previous day and had been taken unconscious to hospital where she was on life support. (The delay in getting in touch was due to me and my family having a 6 hour time difference).

We had a weekend away at an Airbnb and I was irrationally worried about the place getting burgled while we were out. I never normally worry about that kind of thing.

A week later our flat was robbed while I was out.

I've had a premonition in a dream. I was pregnant but very early on and had a dream that I had my arms around my son and a little girl with long brown hair, looking out of a high window. Two years down the line, I was sitting looking out of our new apartment window with my arms round each and it hit me that it was almost identical in every way to that dream I'd had.
I also think about things that are random and they appear out of nowhere later on in the day or that person contacts me, etc. Bizarre

I moved into a house with a flatmate in my twenties and weirdly thought "one of us is not going to survive this house". I was right unfortunately.
