To wish I’d known years ago how good epilators are

After years of shaving I decided to buy an epilator. It’s bloody brilliant. Wish I’d known earlier.

Hate them. Hurts more than giving birth.

I had one years ago when they first came out. Never again, hurt like hell.

Do you mind saying which one you've gone for?

I've thought about one, but then got overwhelmed by trying to choose one.

Can only do my underarms but love not having to shave everyday

Love mine. Can use in shower and don't find it painful at all (shower gel helps). Smooth legs and no razor cuts. Highly recommend!

I can cope with the pain but not the godawful ingrown hairs mine gives me unfortunately.

I got the Phillips Satinell, but I’ve never used one before so no idea how it compares with others. Tried it dry the first time as I was figuring out how to use it and it did hurt a bit, since then I’ve used it in the shower and I’m only feeling tiny pinches as it grabs the hair. I should probably mention that my hair is quite fine so I don’t know if it’s more comfortable for me than it would be for somebody with loads of hair.

I love mine but I can't cope with using it on my underarms! Is use it on my legs and bikini line with no issue or pain but underarms are agony!

If you’re impressed by epilating, try waxing. It’s infineltly superior.

Tried waxing once, it hurt like hell and the woman told me that was my fault for not going regularly. Such a faff too having to plan a booking etc. Never again.

Mine was absolute agony, never used it again! Waxing was easy compared to the torture of the epilator!

So painful!

Get waxed also...epilate in between which keeps salon cost down...best of both worlds for me anyway Smile

The only thing that puts me off is having to let the hair grow long enough to wax it. My epilator gets the shortest hairs.

I get so many ingrown hairs though with mine!

I'm the exact opposite!

Take some Painkillers an hour before using and also before getting waxed and that helps a lot. For ingrown hairs use one of those exfoliating gloves on dry skin every day before showering.

Waxing is great but my epilator works on shorter hairs than waxing. In the summer I just run it over my legs every couple of days and it keeps me adequately smooth....

Wait until you try an IPL machine. (If you have fair skin and nice dark hair like me.) It does hurt though, but my lower legs barely have any hair on and my armpits are getting balder as well.

my smooth skin gold changed my life. I don't grow enough hair to epilate any more.

I liked the idea of IPL, but I think my hair is the wrong colour

I want to try an IPL. I’m super pale but have black hair, so go figure. I hate shaving.
