To become a chat line operator?

I love my current job but it is no longer feasible with my other commitments. I need night work but there is nothing locally. This is the only thing I can think of that will replace my wages ( I'm only part time anyway) and allow me to devote time to what is really necessary during the day.

Can any one speak from personal experience? Is it that bad? Any thing to watch out for? Any reccomended channels to go through?


Or mental idea that should immediately be scrapped??

I’ve left my amazing office job after 10+ years and gone and got a job in a pub/restaurant in the evenings 2/3 nights a week. It felt like a massive step back at the time but I no longer have to stress about childcare or worry about inset days or half terms it’s such a relief.

It wasn't too bad but having to sit and look engaged in their conversation while smiling like a crazy person was exhausting!
Word of advice put your location down as somewhere different, as most of these guys wanted to talk to someone local and obviously you don't want that! Also they'll all want to meet you, so you have to string them along a little in order to keep them chatting while knowing you have absolutely no intention of meeting them!
They sometimes want you to watch them. Luckily you can drag the screen of them down into the corner so you can ignore whatever they're doing....

Webcammed for money before. Only one of a few British girls on the site I was on. That was a draw for a fair few. Most were married many lied (fuck knows why it wasn't by business) and while yes some just wanted to chat about their day or whatever the vast majority wanted more. Dirty talk. I mean pure filth. Stuff I wouldn't even say to a lover. And ofc nudity. And sex acts. Many gross. Even if you say you don't do that and some webcammers won't, you will still be asked relentlessly.

On the whole most viewers were "ok" Nice enough if you can get past how they must treat their partners. Some were hilarious what they wanted. I'd have great fun if I was due my period because I could get out all my pmt rage at the ones who wanted humiliation and namecalling for example. Some were twisted. I won't go into what they said. But it gives me nightmares still. And I have heart palpitations if I think any man is looking at me for what I think is too long incase they recognise me. No one has ever approached me.

Also some are just utterly charmless. "You're so much hotter than my wife baby yeah" said the small dick fat hairy creep who I could see as he was cam2cam and in the room with him was a baby bouncer and a clothes airer full of tiny baby clothes. Fucking arsehole. Always hoped his wife uncovered his little hobby and took him to the fucking cleaners just for that comment alone.

I would advise anyone to never ever do webcamming unless they really wanted a job in the sex industry, which I make no judgments about. Not in a position to judge. I was pushed into by an ex. Who then more or less blackmailed into keeping doing it. Never thought it would wreck my head the way it did. Self esteem is on the floor and my opinion of 99% of male population is pretty fucking low as well.

Yes they still exist. No the traffic is not great. I can earn up to £10ph where I have done them in the past - but you have to be on the same call for an hour to get that - and at 2am. Calls on average last 6 minutes.

I understand how it feels to be desperate to make some money, but there's got to be a better way? What skills have you got? Have you done secretarial/ admin jobs? If so, maybe look for work as a virtual PA? Or how about per sitting and looking after people's small caged animals while they're on holiday?
