To wonder is there any real way out of poverty nowadays

I'm very stressed but muddling through my own situation. It has me thinking a lot about all the catch 22 trip wires that exist when you have not, for whatever reason, got enough money.

When you're constantly fire fighting to deal with a rent crisis of an unexpected bill, and have never quite enough money, by fuck is it draining. So much brain space and energy has to be devoted to basic survival.

I didn't grow up poor, I was very lucky. I'm hopeful my financial shitshow is a temporary thing and I'm coping. But I feel really sad for children growing up in poverty, what sort of chance do they ever get? If their parents are constantly worried about money, maybe having lots of house moves, or no money for fuel, inadequate food? How can a kid with an unsettled, insecure living situation ever fulfill their potential?

I know there will always be superhuman kids who do well despite all odds and we should celebrate them, their success is deserved and hard won. But I feel sad that there must be so many people in poverty who never get a fair crack of the whip, and so life doesn't ever really get off the starting block, with education or good job choices and work experience and so on.

Everything is so, so hard! Once you've not had enough money for a while, it becomes harder and harder to escape from. It grinds you down mentally as well.

YANBU flowers it sounds absolutely fucking soul destroying. I honestly don't know how people do it. I wish we could all do more to help. Does anyone know what we can do as individuals to really make a difference? As well as things like donating to food banks and helping out at food banks and soup kitchens.
