Has anyone tried the new 'posh' malteaser chocolates? Aibu to think they are rediculously underwhelming? They are primarily cheapy wafer. Sad times!

Phosphorus Thu 09-Nov-17 18:24:51

I've not seen them anywhere. Link?

Malteasers can't be bad though!? shock

dinnerladies Thu 09-Nov-17 18:26:15

Agreed @waitingforlifetostart I was gutted when I got them and they were what £6/8 (can’t remember exactly) and tasted surprisingly cheap! I don’t think even think I finished the box, waste of calories and money!

GooodMythicalMorning Thu 09-Nov-17 18:30:14

Yeah . Disappointing. Rather have a bag of bog standard Maltesers

waitingforlifetostart Thu 09-Nov-17 18:33:59

Yeah normal malteasers are lovely. They've messed up!

CakeNinja Thu 09-Nov-17 18:35:24

Someone bought these for me. Couldn’t agree more. Biggest disappointment since Pru fucked up with the bake-off results 😤

CakeNinja Thu 09-Nov-17 18:36:27

These. Luxury my arse.

LemonysSnicket Thu 09-Nov-17 18:40:09

The word is ridiculous

twobambinos Thu 09-Nov-17 18:47:59

I got them in Debenhams half price really was looking forward to tucking into them. Disappointment of the century. A standard bag is far far superior.

twobambinos Thu 09-Nov-17 18:48:22

I'm so glad I didn't save them for Christmas grin

Japanese Thu 09-Nov-17 18:50:30

Ooo, I hadn't heard of these & I flipping love Maltesers...7 quid though!?!

waitingforlifetostart Thu 09-Nov-17 18:51:21

I got them for £6 in Sainsburys. I thought they'd be amazing for that price. sad

CakeNinja Thu 09-Nov-17 18:56:13

They are NOTHING like maltesers.
Why they felt the need to cash in on their success and promote themselves with a 'luxury' product - don't fuck with a winning formula, maltesers are the dogs bollocks angry

I was sure I hadn’t heard of them until my husband reminded me that we’d shared a box some time ago. That’s how underwhelming they were. I’ve usually got a good memory when it comes to chocolate

DurhamDurham Thu 09-Nov-17 19:01:24

Because they cost £7 grin

Flowerbot Thu 09-Nov-17 19:02:18

What’s in them?

MrsHathaway Thu 09-Nov-17 19:04:48

I have a 59p bag of Maltesers hidden from my DC waiting for me.

I win.

Doggymum88 Thu 09-Nov-17 19:07:00

Are they anything like the ones in the celebrations? Those things are heaven on earth!

SchadenfreudePersonified Thu 09-Nov-17 19:07:11

I don’t think even think I finished the box

I didn't think it was even possible - I've only managed it myself once --with those disgusting Hershey's kisses that even the dog wouldn't touch==

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Thu 09-Nov-17 19:08:01

I feel this way about the Malteasers bar.

I love Maltesers, but found the bar form bitterly disappointing sad.

At least it's cheap though! I haven't seen these "posh" ones yet.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Thu 09-Nov-17 19:09:22

Now now MrsHathaway - everybody knows that the 59p bag isn't enough for an adult. You need the £1 size at least wink.

Myneighboursnorlax Thu 09-Nov-17 19:09:55

DH and I love them! They were exclusive to Debenhams earlier in the year, before Sainsbury's got them, and we used to drive half an hour just to buy a box!

CakeNinja Thu 09-Nov-17 19:18:34

Sorry to bust your bubble Doggy but they are nothing like the celebrations ones. You can also buy boxes of those though!

onalongsabbatical Thu 09-Nov-17 19:21:53

Looks to me like they're trying to nab some of the Ferrero Rocher market. Those little fuckers are rubbish, too. But people can be very gullible... grin
