To ask about how long you have to use defrosted chicken?

Put the frozen chicken in the fridge last night and did a organised & thrifty smug preen.

Got back late from work today, feel really lazy and cba to cook the chicken; but now I feel awful because I don't want to waste the food.

Can I eat it tomorrow?

Yes

Definitely

I would and have done.

Definitely. I once put a semi defrosted chicken in my slow cooker at 8am and at 6pm it was lovely. Normally slow cooked whole chickens are disgusting, inedible slop so maybe you could try and and see if you can manage to eat it.

What?!?! So lets say if i put chicken fillets into fridge from freezer on tuesday night, theyll still be okay to eat thursday evening?

i would have saved sooo much food if i'd known this. i was terrified

But surely the chicken won't even be defrosted properly after only 24 hours in the fridge?

Mine would take two days to defrost completely.

Ah I am so afraid of chicken. I'm always freezing it. And eventually throw it away as I'm too scared to defrost it 🙈 Why is there no proper guidelines for this! Ps I've done a food and hygiene course. I still don't know my way around a chicken.

User, I'd eat them.

I wouldn't to be honest, you should cook food that's been frozen within 24 hours

Tomorrow, or Friday, it'll still be fine. Do the sniff test.
