AIBU?

I’m having the shittest evening

Just had a 20-hour plane journey for work. Really jet lagged. 15 minutes ago my hotel was evacuated with a fire alarm. I put my coat over my pyjamas and got out. Once outside, I thought I may as well have dinner (was too tired to get out until now). While I’m waiting for my food, a mouse runs under the table next to mine.

Anyone else having a crap night?

Sounds awful.

I had a lovely day out shopping with DP while he had a rare day off work. Baby cried half the time, pooed through her outfit and refused to feed most of the time. Then I lost one of my earrings - they were crystal and a lovely 21st birthday present Sad spent an hour going back everywhere we'd been and asking if it had been handed in but no luck.
And now I've wrecked my diet by sadly eating a fuck load of chewy sweets in bed Grin

Its not so bad... at least it was under the table and not on it.

If it cheers you up ( and wont put you off your djnner too much)......

a rat once run between me legs in a station toilet in Romania... a squat toilet ... i did a wee on it...

hope your evening gets better!!

We had a massive train detour today and our journey took six hours not two. Also sorry to hear about your day @RedPandaMama - if it makes you feel better I’ve fallen off the wagon and had a giant KFC for dinner Blush

At least it wasn't a rat.

Eat. Sleep.

Hope tomorrow is better!

I walked out of a therapy session in a strop. I’d been looking forward to going all week as there was a lot to talk about and then I left after 35minutes. Cried for about an hour after.

Can I win on the crap evening?

Not the best. Pretty much straight up asked my DP to have a baby... he said no. I knew he'd say no. No is the sensible answer but I so want a baby with him. I had a miscarriage back in may and while I was broody before, the way I feel now is almost unbearable sometimes. Must be patient!! I know he wants kids with me, just not yet.
So now I'm grumping and he's gone out (prearranged, and he doesn't know I'm a bit upset!). Made in Chelsea and cuddles with the dog it is.

Your night takes the biscuit I’m afraid - grim

I once read that mice and rats never coexist, maybe that’s a small comfort to you? Smile

Hope the trip improves and you sleep soon.

Where are you comey ?
I can't think of anywhere 20 hr plane journey away where it would be dinner time now
totally misses point of thread

Just leaving Krakow...had £600 stolen the first night, spent four hours the next day trying to report it at police station but no interpreter available, 3rd day at different police station 17 miles away to meet with interpreter to make report for insurance purpose. Couldn't face Auschwitz today... rest of family went without me
Krakow very clean but 4⭐️hotel a shithole... sanitary towel in jacuzzi UGH... think I would prefer a mouse

True, rats and mice do not coexist.rats are predatory and would eat the mouse litter
Unfortunately, some pest control operator do perpetrate this coexist myth
To secure more work,by setting unnecessary traps and ramp up existing anxieties

If it’s any consolation, it’ll become a great anecdote. I have a great anecdote that involves projectile vomit, a leak, a car, and loads of ants. At the time it was horrific, but time has softened it to a “do you remember when...?”

I hope your evening gets better, and you have a peaceful night.Flowers

I went to the fridge on Christmas Day last year to get all the stuff ready for our dinner only to be greeted by a huge rat that had come up from the cellar. I have had six years of truly shitty luck and lots of infestations of rats, daughter's serious drug problems and cancer, lots of cancer. I send my good wishes and like some people have said, it will make a funny story with perspective.

Now sleep well. Life is funny old bastard.

My day:

My heating is broken. I live in the far north of Scotland. It's not fun.

My son is 300 miles away at uni. He's ill. He had a big test today. The doctors locally won't see him so I had to get him a sick note from a doctor here. I'm also worried about him. While I had a full day at work.

I double booked myself at work. Entirely my fault.

And then I find out that a school friend died last week.

So I'm home, cold, hungry (dinner is cooking), worried about my son and upset about my friend.

I've had better evenings...

Oh that's a truly rubbish day, Mad. Sending good wishes for your son from a random stranger - I fully understand what it's like to worry about your children.

Thank you Punk, much appreciated.

The mouse probably heard the fire alarm and was on his way home.
