AIBU to ask for a refund.

I ordered a vacum cleaner on 18th October and I'm still waiting for it to arrive I contacted the seller who just gave me a tracking number all I wanted was my vacum cleaner thinking about asking for a refund and ordering another one or should I just wait a bit longer to see if it turns up.

Although you ordered it on the 18th there's no guarantee that it was posted then.

I'd be wanting to know when the seller actually posted the item.
Also at what stage of transit is it according to the tracking number.

When I had this info I'd be in a better position to make up my mind regarding a refund (or not).

fairyfellowsmasterstroke it was sent out on 19th and it was due to be delivered to me on 21st it's Hermes that have it got it but I've not received it yet. That was all the tracking information that I've got.

Have you asked for a refund? Seller is responsible until delivery. Where does the tracking say it is ?

The tracking days that it's waiting to be delivered to me but it's been waiting since 21st October. I bought it off eBay.

Contact hermes via live chat support and talk to the sender too. Hermes lose things a lot though, so be warned. If that has happened the seller will have to refund you.

Thank you Maudlinmaud I will give that a try and I will speak to the seller again. I'm starting to think that they have probably lost it.

They lost my item a week ago. I got a refund but both myself and seller had to chase them up. First they said the item was damaged and after further enquiries it was lost. If it is found they will send it on to me and not back to seller who had already refunded, which I think is a bit unfair.
Anyway good luck, screen shot the live chat.

Agree with pp. Raise a case. I tracked a package with Hermes, out to local station, out for delivery, due next day, due today, back to local station, never heard of again.... Got complete new package from supplier, no questions asked.

Maudlinmaud am sorry they lost your parcel I will be taking up with them though and screenshotting the conversation I just don't understand how they can lose something as big as a vacum cleaner. I have heard bad things about Hermes though and the things they do with people's parcels. Thank you.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower I think I might do I have been patient and waited long enough for it to arrive.

pipptysqueatkity I will do I don't know why sellers use them they are forever doing things like this I wouldn't trust them to deliver anything because it never arrives.

If it was sent via MyHermes, i can pretty much guarantee* that its been lost OP.

*based on personal experience of them 'losing' hundreds of pounds of my orders over the years

Thank you SheRaarghPrincessOfPower I will have a look I hope there isn't a time limit on it otherwise that's £23 down the drain that I can't afford to lose.

HelloCanYouHearMe yeah it was sent by them so chances are they've lost it which is really annoying. I don't think people should use them they are far too careless with people's parcels.

Sorry I meant you were too nice to give them so long. There's a time limit for opening cases I'm sure so open one ASAP as this happened with me seller kept trying to get me to wait then it exceeded the time limit to open a case.

cheeseontoastie yeah I think your right I was being too nice to wait so long they weren't exactly helpful when I got in touch. I'm sorry that happened to you sellers shouldn't be allowed to do that to people.
