There's a chip shop in my town that's open mega late. So after the clubs kick out, you can go and get chips. And they do scraps 🙌🙌🙌

What are 'scraps'?

Report
SadTrombone · 03/11/2017 21:55

@Paperclipmover we call it "batter" where I am - it's basically just the scraps of batter that come off the fish etc as they're being cooked.
Some places will offer to put it in woth yoir chips/ fish or even give you a paper bag of the stuff.

@SSD - maybe try asking when you're next in? Couldn't hurt!

I’m a Fifer but I got scraps at my pals local chippie in Yorkshire. Wee fried bits of batter if I recall correctly.

I didn’t have them twice 😷

Scraps are the little bits of deep fried batter that fall off the fish as it's cooking. You can ask for a bag with your fish and chips. They're delicious!

If you need to ask, you aren't ready to know.

The leftover crumbs of batter from the fryer.
Heaven.

I was a regular at my local chippy when I was at my (southern) uni. I taught them about scraps. By the time I left they always had scraps for me, I feel that was my greatest achievement to date.
