AIBU?

Women, if you piddle on the sodding seat will you please wipe it up?!

Second time this week!
I have a weak bladder and the toilets at work are down 2 floors. By the time I get there I am bursting for a wee. I’m fed up of leaking in my knickers wiping up the toilet seat before I get to use it.
Is it really such an ask?!
Have accidentally sat on a damp toilet seat today in my haste and I feel physically sick now.

Fair point, but also....hover?

I feel your pain. I am SO SICK of wiping up other women's and men's pee. It's a simple and respectful thing to do after you have used a toilet. Dirty gits!

sometimes it's not pee as the water from the flush can splash the seat too

It's people who bloody hover! If everyone sat down properly on the loo seat it would not get weed on and would remain clean for everyone.
You are not going to catch anything from sitting on a clean, dry toilet. Far more germs on the flush/taps/door handles.

Are you sure it’s not splash back from flushing? Yanbu though. I feel sick at people’s toilet habits sometimes.
Our women’s toilets are disgusting. There’s mushrooms growing out of the walls and the sanitary bin is regularly overflowing with wrappers and used bloodied tissues.

The thought of sitting makes me feel nauseous. Just hover.

I don’t think it’s women at all who cause the piddle on the seat. It’s the women who bring small boys in with them. My 5 year old boy now insists on going in his own cubicle but doesn’t always lift the seat. I almost always run in behind him to check but sometimes another woman will barge in before me thinking I’m trying to jump the queue. I reckon it’s little boy piddle your seeing.

I don’t think it’s women at all who cause the piddle on the seat. I know one who has done this for certain - as I was next in after her. She is a "hoverer".

Agree. Although I ALWAYS hover and will never sit on a public loo seat. However, I still don't want to see urine on it.

Public toilets are, one the whole, bloody disgusting.

The cleanest I use regularly are at Manchester United. I keep meaning to complain about the ones in the Bullring in Birmingham though, they're horrendous. Used the ones in the Sky Garden once, they're unisex cubicles, and there was pee on the seat and on the floor. Just horrible.

YANBU. I physically cannot hover due to a physical disability. I don’t care if other people want to hover, I don’t judge but I do judge the skanks who pee on the seats and don’t wipe. A lot of the time, it’s quite clearly pee and not flush splashback.

Women in loos are pathetic. For God's sake just sit own do your weeing or whatever and get out.

It's the bloody hoverers. Also, after stern words with my 3 year old, it's the non-wipers.

Whether you hover or not, you still turn around to flush (unless it's a handsfree sensor thing I guess), so you'd see the drips and should wipe!
But yes, could be splashback from flush.

I hover. I also check that the seat is dry afterwards and wipe up if not. But sometimes it gets splashed with water from washing hands, which I don't bother wiping - maybe that's what happened to you today optimistic Anyway, people who sit can also drip on the seat when they stand up to wipe ... my dcs are experts at this.

I don't seem to have that problem in the ladies toilet at work but I certainly do at home. I live with my in laws and my father in law pisses all over the seat and leaves it. Then I forget to check and sit in it. It's absolutely disgusting.

How precious to hover, no one ever caught anything from a dry loo seat. Also those other offenders who cover the seat with tissue and then leave it on the floor need to sort themselves out. And while I'm going on about it can you all just learn to use the flush? I feel a calling to become a professional loo cleaner as I seem to have to do it anyway.

For the love of God, Hover

I can’t, my bladder doesn’t release urine unless I’m sat on a seat or if I’m properly squatting (bum just off the floor, I was caught short on a long walk and headed into the woods).

Besides hoovering isn’t good for you. Friend of mine has a lot of bladder issues. One of the first questions her consultant asking her was if she hoovered when she peed. She did and was told to stop immediately (your bladder doesn’t empty properly).

I hate people who leave a mess in the toilet

Maybe the woman before you hovered because she went in, found pee already on the seat and didn’t fancy wiping it up! Wink
