Pregnant naked selfies in the bath...

OMG. Is this a thing now??

A friend of mine is 12 weeks pregnant and has just posted on FB - where she has like 800 friends - a naked selfie of her bump in the bath. So bump, pubes hidden by bump, and legs.

All I could think was (1) eurgh, (2) why?? and (3) how inappropriate it was. Why does she want 800 people seeing her naked in the bath? And if anyone comments on the photo, all THEIR friends would be able to see the photo as well.

Should I say anything to her??

How much of a bump can she have lying down that it covers the view of her pubes?

No, I wouldn't say anything. Her choice

I'm impressed she can lay down in a bath - my knees stick out

She has a bump at 12 weeks?

She sounds a right prat but don't tell her that.

She can't have much of a bump surely?

Either way, assuming she's a grown woman and knows how her FB account works, why would you want to say anything?

Why would you say anything to her? Have her bump or pubes recently assaulted you?

Well I don’t think it’s a “thing” but it’s something that your friend wants to do. Why not? There are loads of people posting bump pics and all sort of pics, it’s hardly offensive so I don’t get your problem.

A bump at 12 weeks that covers her pubes? I'd be getting a scan asap.

Don't say anything but if she keeps posting that sort of thing (and nothing you're actually interested in seeing) "hide" her through her pregnancy. That's what I do if people keep posting things I don't want to see.

Should I say anything to her? what do you think you should say? Have you never seen a naked body before? Does nakedness offend you?

Look it’s her body and if she wants to take selfies of it and whack it online, then fair play to the lady!

Nobody else can see a photo just cos someone has commented on it unless it's set to public. If it's friends only then only her friends can see it (short of a friend saving it and sharing it themselves). I assume as an adult she understands how social media works and has chosen to make the photo available to 800 people or the entire world. Butt out.

At 12 weeks Hmm

At least she's given you the heads up to block her updates on FB.

FB is fab for some things but OMG nine months of pregnancy updates makes for some loooong months ahead. The amount that seem to think they are the only woman ever to be pregnant is astounding.

Yes, you're being a prude.

Why say anything? Her way to enjoy her pregnancy. Not what I would do but wouldn't bother me if others did.

As an aside though, I was obviously pregnant at 8 weeks and had a prominent bump at 12 weeks - it was the worst kept secret ever when I announced!

She could have it set as "friends of friends" in which case friends of friends could see it...

I left FB and similar social media a few years ago.

I still have friends. I still hear about what is happening in their lives. I still get invited to things.

I just no longer see posts that make me annoyed with people I'm usually quite fond of Smile

She has enough of a bump at 12 weeks for that?

Nicknacky · 29/10/2017 19:23

jacques Totally agree that you can have a bump early on but one so big that when lying down it covers your view of your body?

A 12 week bump? I call bullshit.

God, why is everyone obsessing about how many weeks my friend is? She is 12 weeks. It's her third baby so she's showing early??

I had a bump at 12 weeks because I was a bit fat anyway. It’s none of your business if she wants to take a picture and post it. It’s not hurting anyone.
