Aha - should have clarified - they weren’t selling it - they were using unpacked EOTS to sell printers and reams of paper and carry BARGAIN labels. Activities all beneath any real Santa’s Elf, as any 6yo knows.

custardlover we had an elf here one year, on top of all the other crap I had to save for and plan as a lp for Christmas it was just one more bloody thing to stress about.
At one point Elf went back to the North Pole for three days for a “workshop emergency”. The next year we received a letter from the elf to say he wouldn’t be visiting that year because ds had been so good he did not need watching

We do elf on the shelf and even my 8 year old still believes. We told them that they are toys that only come to life once they're asleep or not looking like in toy story so there never questioned that they're toys and don't move when they see them!
