Gym goers ‘smashing it in the gym’ ‘gym sesh done, smashed it’ followed by 👊🏻

An event where someone lends support by saying ‘smash it guys’ or ‘you’ll smash it’

How do these bloody awful phrases ever catch on? I’m going to have to delete all social media I’m fed up of seeing plant based meals with any sort of hash tag. Pictures of people going to the gym (video of them in their gym gear walking so basically feet.) in the gym, after the gym #aftersmashingitglow

Turmeric lattes
Meatless Monday’s
Green juice
Protein drinks
Sugar free anything

I’m a fairly heathy eater, I exercise I’ve also been known to have a turmeric golden whatever latte but I don’t feel the need to overshare my every waking moment.

I saw an Instagram video of a minor sleb walking yep just walking with a tumeric words just her bobbing along the pavement waving her righteous cup of unicorn pee.

Is it just me that is fed up of this wave of narcissistic behaviour? <deletes all social media, flounces off>

What the heck is a turmeric latte?

LazySusan11 Sat 28-Oct-17 10:01:57

Breakfast it’s a plant based drink, basically non dairy milk with tumeric, cinammon and harvested fairy farts to make it good and frothy.

I'm with you!

I told my family I was doing a mid distance run last weekend and my brother replied "I'm sure you'll smash it!". What does that even mean. I just want to finish it still upright and smiling. Did he want me to win? As a new 37 yr old runner, seems implausible, made me chuckle.

And when did what other people eat become remotely bloody interesting.

Oh, and rainbow/unicorn cakes. The endless complicated instruction videos. Why spend so much effort when it does bugger all to enhance the flavour??

I've a friend who is currently taking part in a popular weight-loss-programme and feels compelled to send me photos of EVERY SINGLE MEAL she eats. Every single one. I want to stab her using the spoon from her soggy sugar puffs (measured out, obviously) because who has time to photograph every single meal, let alone send it to contacts?

Social media will be what causes the end of humanity. It is everything that's wrong with us.

Are turmeric lattes nice?

Paddington68 Sat 28-Oct-17 10:05:56

Turmeric lattes are not nice

Discotits Sat 28-Oct-17 10:07:41

This is what I thought. Might go and make myself an actual latte.

dudsville Sat 28-Oct-17 10:09:29

Not everyone likes the same thing?

formerbabe Sat 28-Oct-17 10:10:12

Eat clean, train dirty.

VioletCharlotte Sat 28-Oct-17 10:17:20

I know. Drives me mental too. There's a few people on my Fakebook that do this all the time. I go to the gym several times a week, but can't imagine posting a selfie after each session captioned "just smashed another gym session."

LazySusan11 Sat 28-Oct-17 10:17:37

Or bowls of #goodness lines of oats, chia seeds, almonds and whatever else in pretty lines in a bowl.

ILoveMillhousesDad Sat 28-Oct-17 10:21:29

harvested fairy farts

ILoveMillhousesDad Sat 28-Oct-17 10:21:53

Yanbu it is so smug

chewiecat Sat 28-Oct-17 10:27:48

Harvested fairy farts grin

DJBaggySmalls Sat 28-Oct-17 10:30:29

You do know the poor fairies are factory farmed and force fed fizzy drinks so they can harvest their farts?

OhBigHairyBollocks Sat 28-Oct-17 10:30:37

Harvested fairy farts is easily the best thing I've ever read on here grin

SoupDragon Sat 28-Oct-17 10:32:02

Meh. If that is what motivates them then I don't really see the problem. Unless they've not actually done these things but are just posting shit on social media, that would be weird.

SoupDragon Sat 28-Oct-17 10:32:38

Are turmeric lattes nice?

Did you read the description?

BernardBlacksHangover Sat 28-Oct-17 10:37:43

I would probably find this irritating, so I don't have any social media at all, (except mumsnet, which I am unhealthily involved with). Since I never have to endure enjoy these fb / instagram updates from friends, I can afford to be smugly live and let live about it.

Hope the fairies are #freerangeorganic. Did I do it right? That's how hashtags work yes grin?

LazySusan11 Sat 28-Oct-17 10:38:28

Tumeric lattes give you a vegan pat on the back for taking care of your temple. I used to have one at bedtime to help me sleep with a crap load of rum in it

OutToGetYou Sat 28-Oct-17 10:41:39

Funnily enough none of my friends do any of that. A few post their marathon results, a few their Arctic expeditions.

I think my friends are just less, shallow smile
