AIBU?

To be impressed and ever so slightly jealous that I never thought of this??

Took DC to the country park today, and while waiting for a space in the carpark, noticed another mum packing up. Before folding her buggy into the boot, she pulled out a scrubbing brush and scrubbed each wheel! She then replaced it into its plastic baggie cover, popped it into the bottom of the buggy and happily loaded it - mud free! - into her boot.

Am now eyeing my own grubby-wheeled buggy with a new perspective entirely!

Ah well, it matches the grubby, muddy dog....

I used to put shower caps on my wheels before packing it into the car!

We put a shower curtain in the bottom of our boot - I attached auction cups to the edges (from an old suction cup toy). That way I can throw in any muddy thing and not have to worry - so buggies, hockey stick, dog balls and coats, sports shoes, horse blankets etc.
I take it out once a month and hose it down with the pressure washer for about 10 seconds, dry it on the line and put it back in the boot.

I used to have a box of medical gloves in the boot so I could put them on before cleaning the buggy wheels before putting them in the boot . . .

What you could do is take a washing up bowl, a canister of water and one of those battery-powered camping shower head things and actually hose it down in the car park before putting it back in the car! (Tempted to try that on DDog actually!!) You'd get a lot of funny looks but your car & buggy would be clean Smile

I used to just let the car get filthy. Worked for me.

Pallisers I was about to say the same thing. I quite like having a clean(ish) house, but really, who cares about whether or not the boot of the car is filthy? I like to save my limited adulting powers/energies for stuff I spend more than 15 seconds a day looking at.

It’s never occurred to me that I should clean anything before putting it in the boot of the car. Probably because my boot is so full of carrier bags that no mud would every actually reach the carpet 😂

Which reminds me of the time my dd threw up in the back of the car, and because the floor was so covered in rubbish none of the sick touched the car interior, I just had to bag up the sick covered rubbish. Reasons to be untidy No1

Life is too short for that sort of crap. Hoovering the boot out occasionally did for me!

How did she clean the mud off with just a brush? Did she have water as well?

I once saw a couple cover the seats, floor and back of the front seats with about a hundred binliners before getting their muddy children in the car.
I thought it was going a bit far.

I wondered that Balloon Without water you're just smearing the mud around. Confused

Nike, why stop at showering the buggy? Might as well do the dc whilst you're at it. Home in pjs, give them a biscuit nourishing snack in the car and home to bed. Grin

I will confess to having the full works in the boot of my car for times when my little fucker of a dog chooses to liberally coat himself in fox poo. I've seen the admiring glances from those around me who come less prepared. Halo

That is impressive. But not sure how she gets ALL the mud off especially if it’s wet underfoot. If you see her around again suggest she vacuum seals the buggy along with the shoes/boots of its occupant and jet washes them when she gets home.

Yeah I'm another vote for leaving it dirty. Like ironed bedding, half the fun of placing my small piece of carry-on luggage into the pristine boot of an overspecced German saloon is the feeling of living someone else's life. In reality we went straight from manky festival tent to wet hillwalking gear to massive filthy buggy.

Santa showercaps on the wheels. I am in awe. I know I am going to mutter that quietly to myself repeatedly in the weeks ahead while wishing that you were my friend/guru in RL so I could follow you around and copy your best ideas.

Can't be arsed with that level of preciousness.

She'll probably have a breakdown at the sight of my muddy stinky dogs and boots.

Life is too short, I agree, but with the right car it could have an impact on resale value.
