Should this make us respond differently to posters who make very specific posts about this topic?

Doesn't surprise me in the least about those stats even though it is to think about it.
You just don't know who's watching/reading or why they have posted - they could quite easily have posted a certain question about kids to get off on the answer. Ugh.

Regardless of what the stats are, dunk the sad reality of the internet is that we don't know who's who on here and a video of an 11 year old blinging up her school uniform is not just going to be watched by 11 year old schoolgirls as much as I'd like that to be the case.

Yes...it's creepy and gross and turns your stomach but...if they're just watching the video I'm not sure I can get that worked up about it.

Ditto...'oversharing' on here. So let's say you 'overshare' on a thread that actually turned out to be started by a troll. So what?

I guess that's my point in summary 'so what?'

If a troll gets their kicks from my overshare which is also interacting with other genuine posters then I can't really bring myself to care. Sure, it's creepy of them but I don't see how it impacts my safety?

Of course not,

but why would a 12 year old need to put up a video of her changing into her school uniform?

why would a mother need to explain exactly how short her pre-pubescent daughter's skirts are?

It's a case of general uniform advice being fine, but considering why specific "advice" and personal experiences is being asked for and by whom.

If something turns your stomach, then it's a fairly good guide to it not being a good idea to share.

Although I think there will be some situations where this is the case, I don't think it will be the majority of the male accounts. If it was, this would also be reflected with the number of older women watching and they would also be in the top watching bracket. Presumably the number of children using their dads account would be somewhat equal to them using their mums account.

When you sign up for a youtube account you have to pick an age bracket. If you want to lie and say you're a teenage girl there's nothing to stop you. Which makes the figures more horrifying rather than less.

And obviously children do watch on their parents' accounts, but that would surely mean that there were as many adult women reported as watching as adult men.

The OP said it was a girl talking about how to bling up a school uniform, not that she posted herself changing into uniform.

The former...I would let my daughter do and would not censor her because pervy men might watch (in the same way they might watch her in real life).

The latter...I would not allow and would teach her about internet safety and appropriate conduct (in the same way I wouldn't let her change into her school uniform in the middle of a public place).

The "how to look cte" in your unfor category of videos (God I wish I hadn't looked). Shows over and over again, schoolgirls usually in their bdroos in front of a mirror, rolling articles of clothing up and down to alter the length, taking carigans off etc., and probably quite innocently titivating whilst explaining how they feel cuter having made these adjustments.

eyebrows you are being very dim if you think that it's ever OK to let a child barely old enough to have a youtube account film themselves in their own bedroom for the delectation and delight of the internet at large.

That's not preventing females from having the freedom of the internet, it's good sense and responsible parenting.
