To be bloody furious with carpetright

Ordered carpets for 3 bedrooms, hallway and stairs.
Fitting day came and it transpires fitter has cut the carpet incorrectly so can only do 2 bedrooms, another carpet needs to be ordered. It will take 7 to 10 days. A bit of a pain but fair enough. All bedrooms had to be emptied and put back together.
He fits stairs and after he's gone I notice the last stair is sliced so fraying already.
Go instore and get told to email pics.
Today was the fitting day for 3rd bedroom. Fitter turns up to say carpet was actually faulty, so he has to order a new one, so another 7 to 10 days. We'd emptied the bedroom again for nothing!
Getting a bedstead delivered tomorrow and I'd paid extra for the delivery guys to build it. As it cant go in the bedroom as it'll need to be dismantled again when the carpet comes again, so I've wasted that money.
So, in 7 to 10 days we'll have to empty the bedroom AGAIN.
And I've still not heard back from them about the stairs carpet.
ARRRRRRGH!

Have the bed put together op. The carpet fitter will be able to lay around it unless the room is tiny tiny.

I had an absolute nightmare with Carpetright - I feel your pain! I had two lots of fitters (for a vinyl floor) they blamed each other for a cock up, Carpetright didn't want to know because the fitters are independent contractors...it rolled on for MONTHS and I lost track of how many times we had to clear the room. Sorry I can't offer practical help, but I can most definitely sympathise!

We had issues with carpetright too. Didnt cut thr carpet right so it started getting big bumps on it which is brilliant when its on the stairs! They came out 6 times and just kept gluing it down. I finally lost my temper with them when a huge bit came away from the gripper and the dog ripped his pad open on it. The bloke who came to replace it said we had been sold the wrong underlay (it was too thin) and the carpet shouldn’t have been recommended for stairs anyway! So far this one has been down for 3 years now and no trouble.

I've never ever heard good things about carpet right. I've also heard that they sub contract to self employed fitters, and if anything goes wrong they try and pass the buck.

Have they got twitter or a Facebook page? If so, public shaming might work.

I have had a great service both times I have used carpetright (no, I don't work for them!). No problems at all and carpets looking good years later.

I too had nightmares with carpet right. Terrible customer service and shocking workmanship. Used them once. Never again. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I was unhappy with their fitters, contractors, I know, but still. There was a lump under one carpet, it's still visible, really annoying. I've used independent shops since.

We had a shocker with Carpetshite. Ordered carpet, booked fitting day, waited in all day and they didn't turn up. When I rang they said, "sorry, out of stock, it will be another 2 months" So I cancelled. However, they had an absolute inability to process the refund, seems the area manager had to approve it. After ringing multiple times and visiting the store I eventually put in a section 75 claim through the credit card company, and they refunded me in days

Useless fuckers

pennypent i could have written your post. One fitter no longer contracts for them possibly partly because of our complaint. We are still waiting to have a finished floor. They are making their 7th visit next week. We have said we are not moving furniture now so they will have to do it. I had only just found out i was pregnant when i ordered the floowing, baby will be 1 month old next week and I'm not confident it will be finished even then.

It's pretty much our only option here. But my experiences with them have been fine.
