Pyjamas at hotel breakfast

We were staying overnight in a hotel last night (after a small domestic emergency so had left the house in a hurry), over breakfast this morning a family of five came down for breakfast with all the children in pyjamas and dressing gowns and barefoot. they were aged about eight to fifteen or so.

Aibu to think that this is not really acceptable?

I think with dc it’s ok as some are difficult about getting dressed, might not of got up on time etc, with an adult however it’s just laziness

Bit weird. The norm is to get dressed. I wouldn't do it.

Children I can't get upset over. But when dh and I were in a Vair posh hotel for our wedding anniversary there was an insufferable 20 something woman who came down in her pjs and was acting in a way that kind of dared everyone to say something, talking very loudly on her phone, wild gesticulations, sashaying through the dining room. I'm sure she thought she was oh so daring but really she just looked a total numpty

I'd live in my pyjamas if it was socially acceptable! I'd probably try to get dressed in a hotel though. But I probably wouldn't give a monkey's if someone else was in pjs x

My etiquette-strict late parents would be turning in their graves at the prospect of pyjamas in public. As far as I'm concerned you get dressed for a hotel breakfast because that's just the polite thing to do. But then I sort of wish I'd been born in the days where you dressed up for dinner, so I might not be the fairest judge.

I'm someone who is constantly in pyjamas/comfies whenever I'm in my house but even I'd get dressed for breakfast in a hotel.

Younger children I wouldn't have a problem with but 15 is pushing it a bit.

It takes 30 seconds to throw jeans and a top on.

Did breakfast end at 9.30 and they tipped up at 9.25? It may be that they just rushed down to ensure they got their breakfast.

Yes me too. There’s not a chance on earth my younger Ds would step outside the room not dressed. Very curious.

Yep most hotel restaurants do not allow bare foot. I think it's a bit lazy
