Probably show my age a bit, but...

Non fictional:

Trude Mostue - the TV vet from Vet School and Vets in Practice. In fact my photo was even taken holding a picture of her, for an art exhibition Grin

Fictional:
Flavia from the Roman Mysteries book series. Ginny Weasley for a bit too.

David Seaman. Don't know why, as I never enjoyed playing football. But there we go.
And I was 100% convinced I was going to be the White Cat Victoria from the musical CATS.

Wightintheghoulies · 22/10/2017 21:28

Captain Janeway or Xena Warrior Princess. I wanted to be cool, badass, in command....

Never any of those things sadly!

Pixilicious · 22/10/2017 21:33

Real life: I wanted to be an air hostess
Fiction : Lucky Santangelo from Jackie Collins’ books

LongWavyHair · 22/10/2017 21:34

Kelly Clarkson. Mid 00's when I was about 15/16. Loved her songs and loved her look.

Areyoufree · 22/10/2017 21:35

Linda Hamilton, Terminator 2. Still kind of do.

Feckitall · 22/10/2017 21:36

George from The Famous Five....

Or Kenny Dalgleish...being female was the block on being a professional footballer ...

RangeTesKopeks · 22/10/2017 22:17

Anyone from the Pony Club books, Hermione from Harry Potter and, at one point, Charlotte Church Grin

ILoveMillhousesDad · 22/10/2017 22:23

Perry Mason (the reboot, not the 60s original)

He made me want to become a barrister, until one of them education people who came to schools told me to aim lower as people from my background didn't become barristers. He told me to aim for a legal secretary.

The twat. Talk about pissing on my bonfire.

ilovepixie · 22/10/2017 22:26

Sandy from Grease. The bit at the end where she becomes Sexy sandy. I so wanted to be like her!

afrikat · 22/10/2017 22:30

At various times, Jane Goodall, Kay Scarpetta and Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Lifeisforliving25 · 22/10/2017 22:34

I really really really wanted to be Sabrina the teenage witch 😂
Or buffet the vampire slayer and then Lizzie mguire :/

Other than that actual people I wanted to be Margaret thatcher from about age 5 ( have no idea why )

Lifeisforliving25 · 22/10/2017 22:34

Buffet !!! Clearly meant buffy 🙈

Mominatrix · 22/10/2017 22:34

Audrey Hepburn. Cliche, probably. I wanted to be her because she had elegance, intelligence, humour, warmth and spunk. I still aspire to be her.

FoofFighter · 22/10/2017 22:37

Miss Piggy

Blonde, buxom and ballsy

NancyDonahue · 22/10/2017 22:38

Real

Princess Diana. I was 9 when she married Charles and I loved every second of it. I still get a bit misty eyed if I see a pic of her in her wedding dress.

Fictional

I loved Private Benjamin! Goldie Hawn is so gorgeous and being in the army seemed like a lot of fun Blush

AHintOfStyle · 22/10/2017 22:38

Wonder Woman and / or Joanna Lumley

Sometimes I think I'd still like to be either of them Smile

GetTheeBehindMeShatner · 22/10/2017 22:40

I wanted to be in an Australian women's prison. I loved the look of the laundry presses on Prisoner Cell Block H.

user1487175389 · 22/10/2017 22:40

The ones I'll admit to:

Ace from Doctor Who
She-Ra

Snailo · 22/10/2017 22:40

Kate Adie. I thought she was amazing - I still do. Our school careers adviser suggested journalism courses were "too competitive" - had I thought about being a teacher? (No, because I had no interest in it!) Anyway, 20 years later... I was never Kate Adie. I work in an office!

QuiteChic · 22/10/2017 22:48

Growing up with Saturday black & white films, I always wanted to be Margaret Lockwood - stunning actress, beautiful, poised and elegant. Me - short, fat, bad skin, could trip over fresh air.

Recently Daenerys Targaryen - ooh the power ! (and John Snow !)

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 22/10/2017 23:39

Feckit I wanted to be John Barnes. Being female, white and shit at football never bothered me but I couldn't rap either so that was that down the swanny.

OrangeCrush19 · 23/10/2017 01:31

Daphne from Scooby Doo.

I’m halfway there - I look a bit like Velma.

Lady Penelope as a child
Joanna Lumley as Purdey as a teen
After that I got real and tried just to be me.

CaoNiMwahaha · 23/10/2017 06:22

For about 10 minutes in Sixth Form I wanted to be Cherie Blair Blush

RaindropsAndSparkles · 23/10/2017 06:57

ciao ha ha. You just reminded me of an earnest PTA model who with a straight face asked e to support her campaign for trousers for girls because Cherie Blair wore them and was a brilliant role model for our daughters. Grin
