I was looking on pintrest last night and seen these (will attatch pic)

Would it be grim to give them out rather than sweets? I think they are fun. My sister thinks my house will be egged as a result.

I dunno, round here the parents of Hugo and Cressida etc would lap it up.

If you want them flung at your windows then go ahead! Grin It's all about the sugary crap!

Hmm That's not a good thing and you shouldn't be proud of it.

aw I think they are cute!! I'd love oneGrin. But my kids would have been disappointed I'm afraid as it really was all about the sweets for them. ( Defo wouldn't have egged your house thoughConfused

Oh, don't be a meanie! Imagine those excited little faces at your door, waiting for their treat, only to be given a satsuma. Sad

Plus if they're anything like the terrors near me they'll just use them as missiles to pelt your house.

YABU

Either give treats or don't bother

Why would you bin fruit?

You could probably give them to toddlers. Older DC won't be impressed.

It would be VERY unreasonable to bin it, its shit to bin perfectly good food, certainly not something I'd be boasting about Hmm

However, they'll get eaten last OP, after all the naughty sweets.

I wouldn't bin it but I would be miffed.

It's a cute idea but you're much more likely to wake up to an egg caked house in the morning.

Actually thinking about it, they are unlikely to make it home without being squished.

YellowMakesMeSmile · 21/10/2017 17:09

Not something I would do, its about treats and candy.

It would be like looking forward at Christmas to a nice gift of lovely chocolate only to find you'd be given an apple.

ok think might throw some in the bowl, just in case any toddlers might want to choose them, along with some flumps and mini harbio.

Cute but not likely to be well received.

I wouldn't bother. They'll be bruised to fuck after sitting in plastic pumpkins and having other sweets and stuff chucked on top of them, and being knocked around by little kids.

By all means do it for your own kids, but I think Halloween is one night a year where you don't need to bother about getting your five a day!

Ha ha. My cousin did similar one year. She chopped up apples and gave out the quarters.

Her house wasn't egged or anything, but she did have to spend some time the next day cleaning up all the dropped bits of apple the kids had discarded on her front path and outside her house!

Yes good idea to chuck some in a bowl of other sweets. Some parents might appreciate a less sweet treat for little ones accompanying.

I wouldn’t bother, don’t think it will go down very well

My Ds last year had the choice of sweets or fruit at one house, he happily picked a banana.

My DM made these a few Halloweens ago. They went down a treat, but she also gave them out sweets. The kids seemed to enjoy the novelty factor but tbh they'd probably be disappointed without the sweets.
